.12 motor, removing rear bearing....i tried the oven method at around 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes...it came out with a couple good wacks of a hammer on the front side..... but here is my dilema..

1. leave front bearing in when doing this?
2. how do you save the crankcase from denting in........ (i learned on this one i guess) (the bearing will not go back in...)
3. the front bearing i had removed first (i think this was my downfall)

so much for that nova motor!

You go to Home Depot, get a piece of 2 x 4 and use it to beat the engine. That way it wont leave any dents, Ive done it before.

Don't hit the engine with a piece of wood.
Hit the piece of wood with the engine....

Put on an ovenglove, piece of wood on the table.
Hit the engine against the piece of wood, the rear bearing should come loose.
The front bearing you can then push out from the inside of the engine.

I used this method when changing the bearings in my sti and they popped out easily.
Just heated the block up again after a thorough clean and slipped the new bearings in, then slid the crank in to make sure that they aligned correctly!
