Hmmm I wonder why my sirio didnt come stuck in TDC. After 15 tanks its got plenty of compression and I still cant turn it over by hand or with my starter box unless I heat it up with a hairdryer. I guess it could be because its one of the older sirios and they didnt do that yet.

Most engines come this way since the piston is sealing the exhaust port off and there is less chance of debris entering the motor.

Almost all of my motors have come this way and they run strong and reliable.

How do you break-in your engine? cos took me about 45mins to run in the sirio.

Default similar experience

My OPS .21 Buggy Pro engine also stuck at TDC. It came at BDC, so I didn't know until I crank it with my starter box. Then it stuck at TDC - had to open the head and knock the piston to release it.

I thot it was a flaw from the manufacturer, but have not tried heating it up yet. Thinking of fine scrubbing the top part of the sleeve, but it might damage the coating.

Just afraid it will become a paper weight.

I ran 10 tanks total for break-in but took it a little easy on it for the next few tanks after that. The first tank I got it up to 200F right away and ran it around slowly in two 5 minute cycles with cooling in between. I ran the second tank a little bit faster in two 6 minute cycles with cooling in between and during the next 8 tanks I increased speed every tank until I hit WOT on the 10th tank and kept the temp close to 200F during the whole process.
