Default OS P3 vs. Novarossi #5 Turbo Plugs.....

So.....It's time for a glowplug run.

Firstly, why are OS P3's so expensive when compared to, say, Novarossi #5 turbos? AT 8.99$ and 6.99$, respectively, what makes the OS worth an extra 2$??

My reason for asking is i want to by 5, and difference is noticable in the wallet....but is it worth it on the track?

So:

OS P3 vs. Novarossi #5 Turbo glowplugs (in a V-Spec. modded and regular)

Not sure about the prices, but your comparing an apple to an orange. You can't interchange them in you engine, unless you like deforming your Nova head button with a larger taper on the OS plug.

hmmm...ok. I'm a little confused then. IS that true?

I see this on a very large online shop:

"Novarossi 05Tf Turbo #5 Plug. Very hot plug is perfect for .21 Turbo engines in most conditions.
Works great for .21 turbo engines with high-nitro content fuels. Works very well with 421B and OS VZB V-Spec engines."

Is this wrong?

I'm not saying it won't work, because I remember installing one before in an OS, but if you take off the head button with the Nova plug installed, you'll see that the Nova plug taper is smaller and it doesn't fit flush. It also will not keep the contour of the combustion chamber smooth as it should be.

On the Nova, the OS plug will push the button chamber in to get the larger taper to fit correctly. This will now deform the top of the combustion chamber on the Nova button, so as it stands, they are not inchangeable.

In the past I had put a Novarossi plug in my V-Spec and it worked but it did tweak the threads some. I would recommend using O.S. plugs in a V-Spec.
