If I had a standard receiver, I would probably run the 6.5v ProTek R/C regulator from Amainhobbies with my LiPo's. I have heard good things about the regulator. But once again, that would be me, so use at your own risk....LOL 
My issue with running LiPos is that they should not be discharged below 3.0volts per cell so it doesn't make sense to me to run a 6.0 volt regulator. At least with a 6.5v regulator, when the pack starts dumping, you can know it is dumping before it hits 6.0 volts since you'll have a 0.5v window to monitor. With my 7.0v regulators, I just have my Nomadio radio set up to start beeping at me when the voltage hits 6.7 volts. Then I know I can run another lap or two without any worry of over-discharging my packs.
