The stainless disc rocks. No pulsing, nice consistent braking. I was able to set my brake EPA 20 points higher on the M8 and not spin out, basically due to the ultra consistent and smooth action.

Graphite Brakes? Hmmm Graphite is used as a dry lubricant to unstick door locks. I don't think it would be possible to get a good result with that even in a compund form. Perhaps carbon fiber but it would have to be extremely hot to work. You would essentially have to run permanent drag brake to get it hot enough to begin to work. The machined option disk is the way to go.

Cant read the quote...but If I said graphite disc I meant CF disc. But there are carbon graphite parts I have the cg arms for the r40.

As for the disc all together. Ive had ok results with my gpm ti disc...but I also have a one-way so I rarely brake and its also set so light its barely helpful.

I wouldnt mind running zero brake disc...but the idea just scares me too much.

I have the gpm ti disc , the 3racing cf disc...but havent tried that.

Nobody liked my links??

Oh yeah...I'm a two R40 family now. Just got my "new" one today. Nice car and parts for life!!! It's got most of the HPI options (shafts, tray mounts, one-way, good shocks, LW two-speed, CF towers...).

Now I gotta get another motor. Thinking 3-port TZ this time. I have a 5-port in the other car for Revelation (HUGE track). This one is the parking lot car.

The R40 2005 is only $340 from RCmodel, plus shipping will be $380 to US. http://shopping.rcmodel.hk/product_i...oducts_id=7037
Why is it retailing over $450 here?

Thank you. I think that's the first somewhat worthwhile thing I've ever contributed here.

Yeah, the rear uprights are GPM from Dinball Rcmart (Ebay). I think they were only like $12 or so. The whole order with a set of 3racing steering bellcranks and freight from HK was $28 or so. Pretty cheap and they got here in a week or so.

Thinking about getting fronts...don't know if they'd hold up or not.
