Yeah my car can take a beating. Once I upgraded everything to CF it became a tank. Ive also gone an added titanium ball ends and turnbuckles. It couldnt break if it wanted to.

Eh, I think I'll save it for my real car. High time I get one of those. For now I'm just waiting to hear from my friend.

I was wondering how you guys have holes cut in the body for cooling..

I finally got a body painted and while running the motor ran about 50* warmer..

so far I have a 1-2 inch circle cut in the front and a hole in the rear windshield above the motor.

Here is a pic of mystratus body, here in Guatemala we have a restriction for thewindshield of a diameter of 2 inches, but you can cut te windows out and te rear window also.

Im talking about my old racer2. Lunsford I believe was for both.

The graphite parts (arms and whatever else they offered) were hpi option parts.

Which reminds me. Are the outdrives from the rs4-2 compatible with the R40?

Oh dang which reminds me again. I wonder if my hub adapters will work from the rs4-2 to the r40. Reason being I have lightweight carbon graphite hubs....and im sure the r40 still has the heavier plastic.

Damn im gonna test this tonight. Hybrid modifications are the best. Ill let you guys know, this will be our little secret. LOL. Cause I doubt many people will think to try this swap over stuff from the racer2.

BTW finally got the car to idle somewhat. I noticed the carb was kinda close. So I opened the idle adjustment to 1.5mm. Im just guestimating. But it looks like more than what hpi reccomends.

Do you guys know how the novas normally like to run. Im still having troubles tuning this thing.

thanks..
comparing to yours, it looks like I need to enlarge the hole in the front.. and maybe cut some away from the very back so the air has somewhere to go.

AI the hubs should be a dirrect replacement. I've already moved a few select bits of Ti from my ancient rs4 racer onto my R40 as well as a nicely modded graphite brake disc and some of the bearings.

I'm wondering if the pullys will fit on the R40. if so I may beable to comeup with some different drive ratios and possibly get either mor top or bottom depending.

If you dont get enough air through the rear...it will lift the back. Making whatever downforce pointless. As well will slow the car.

The reason you want a larger opening the rear. This way what comes in , can easily go out.

well the hole in the rear windshield is significantly larger than the front .... tomorrow if its nice enough outside I will cut on the body some more and test it out..

this was the first time I've tried the cougar body and I ran it without the rear spoiler..... hahaha that was funny.. it was like driving on the front two tires only.. mass downforce on the front and zero in the back.. if the spoiler doesnt help a whole lot then I'm going to need some major setup changes...
