i tossed the clips in the toolbox a while ago i figure i dont really need them since i use an alignment board

ae springs are very popular in my area we use them on just about every car out there because they are available in a nice kit that includes all the different rate springs and a chart that tells which are which

but im too cheap to go out and get a set the stock springs have worked great so far

Hey all, I was wondering if any of you polish the hinge pins , pivot balls? does it really help to smooth things out?? also what other parts would you poilish and does any companies make ti hinge pins?

Wait, I have a question, might have asked this before, but will the STS RS3 with the SG crankshaft fit the HPI R40? Also, would Futaba servos work with an Airtronics receiver?

Where are you guys buying the 2004 R40 and or the conversion kit over seas?

What was wrong with the first run of kits? I have a chance to either buy a new one at $260 or a first run kit a little cheaper. I'll end up buying a 2004 and another for parts. But I havn't made up my mind yet. I spent a day at the Toledo track (home of the 2004 nats) and have the nitro bug again.

AMG, you mentioned the 0.8 module gearbox was your favorite upgrade... I've never heard of that, can you please describe that upgrade for me a bit.

there was(is) nothing wrong with the kits...

The 2004 JAPANESE edition features all the lightweight options standard..plus it comes with metal shocks and a one way...

all for around 350 US plus shipping...

I got mine for $310. You can get them this low if you shop around a little. For this money it is an absolutely AWESOME value kit. How many stock kits come with Ti screws?

What you cannot really tell from the pics are that the silly big locknuts to hold the spurs on are removed, three screws are used instead, and the shoes themselves are around 50% smaller.

The stock unit is around 65g and the 0.8 module is around 45g. Thats 20g right off the rotating mass. I really felt it immediately.

Ahh.. what a pleasure.

Finally got my ass out there to the closest reasonable track.
But one big problem.. 80% run 8th scales there.

The track was at times sloppy because of the 'firehose straights' that were used, but for the most part, a brilliant track. An approximately 250 foot long straight leading to a sharp right hand sweeper, leading to a right, to a hairpin left, to a wide curve on to the left portion of the track, where the flow was kept back to the straight.

In one scenario I was setting a pace for the 8th scale behind me for a short time, only to loose my lead on the straight...

It was very fun going neck and neck with a 710 down the straight after the last technical portion of the track, at least for that 1 lap when my engine didn't flame out~!

At the end of the day I noticed severe tire damage to my left rear tire. The outer sidewall of the tire was practically shredded off, creating a slight positive camber, while the right rear tire was in perfect shape.

Could this be because of a small hit I took from an 8th scale early on? Could my chassis possibly be tweaked?

Most likely due to the right sweeper putting a lot of load on that tire. Work on your setup.

ok i just took of my front end and then put it back on, and now i have no suspension travel at all, i think it is my front sway bar is holding it back, but i didnt adjust and thing, so i dk why it is different now. do you guys know anythings that might be makin it do this??
