are any of you guys gonna go up to fastlane and do the team race thing? i think it is like the 13th
#3003
Where did you see a link for the 2004 challenge races?
All I saw was information for 2003 challenge.
Goldenboy- I probably wont be going to do the team race at fastlane. Fifty bucks per team is kind of steep. If you are going
make sure you take your tallest gears for the 200+feet straight.
I don't know if ptp or proteus are going.

yah i saw that also, i was like yikes. but i think i am still gonna go.
NCC i saw the pic of your r40 on dougs website, did you buff your sway bar like you did your shock towers, or is that a silver sway bar, and if it is, what makes it different from the stock

Yes, I polished the swaybar as well. That was the
optional gold which is the stiffest. Stock is medium.
As you can see my track is pretty much a high G track
with lots of traction so I went stiffer to settle the rear
end through the high-speed turns. I was also able to
get a hair more steering as well. On a low traction
track I'll go with stock. That picture was taken last year
so I've made a lot of changes since. I'm currently
running the 04 upgrade kit w/ns3 thanks to proteus.

I'm glad that they are packaging a team model, but it would have been nice if they did it initially.

camber/toe clips
hey fellow R40 owners: I was wondering if all of you guys use the camber/toe clips that are enclosed with the kit. I think that the clips will start to endent or soften overtime, so with this in mind I was thinking of using aluminum washers instead. Does anyone have any insite as to which or where I can find washers that may work? also I heard that AE springs will work on the R40, But the springs by AE are the same size front to back. So would these springs still work on the R40 since the springs are different sizes?
thanks all -enjoy the R40!!

As for the springs be very careful. I am not saying dont experiment, but the HPI option springs are the right length and spring rates to make the car work nicely. You really need a way to categorise the springs to ensure you have way to keep "in the range".
