New to R40
Ok I just pikked up an R40 from my LHS for $239.- but while I was building it I noticed a verry slight rubbing in the 2-speed assembly.
when I took it apart to check it out I found that my 2-speed clutch shoes were makeing slight contact with the 2nd gear housing creating a slight but constant drag. I have tried to backing the grub screw out so that there is no longer a gap between the shoes but it only decreased the rubbing.
Has Anyone else out there experienced this? Is it the kind of thing that goes away after the clutch brakes in?

Thanks,
I'll check for flashing and see if an aditional washer helps. If anyone is interested in the 239.- R40 pricing, I picked it up from Fantasy World Hobbies in Tacoma, WA. I am not sure if they do any mail order RC but their # is 253-473-6223.

2004 spec should be about another 6-8 weeks for US.

I should have my 2004 in 3 weeks Well the conversion kit anyways!
I picked up a few items from my most hated manufacturer GPM.
1. Titanium hingepin set
2. Titanium pivotballs
3. Graphite drag plate
4. Graphite side brace
Lets see how the quality is
I will give some weight before and after when I get them on the scales.

1. The shoes rub on the 2 speed adaptor if the large grub screw is too far in.
2. The 2 speed housing rubs on the 1st speed housing and also on the bulkhead. I totally agree that more shims are required, I will be shimming mine up soon. Z689 is the part number you need for the shims.

The back end of my chassis is almost toast and I am kicking sparks off my titanium screws at the end of the straights! Anybody else have this issue?
