Thanks fastharry, btw, how long should my fuel line be just to make up for the 3cc? Or can I just get a slightly bigger fuel filter like what hara put in his car?

Btw, I joined a race last sunday and I came in last. My wheel came of bec I didn't tighten it well and I bent my stinger and cracked my pipe. It took a while before I can get restarted but once I got back on the track, I drove the R40 like there was no tommorow. Yes, I still got last, around 12 laps down but that was due to my mishaps but man, I tried driving it to the limit and I was really wishing that my car didn't break because I know I'd be on the podium somewhere bec no matter what I do to the R40, it still remained stable, hooked and consistent.

Here's what I have so far in my R40:
1. Lightweight mid shaft
2. Lightweight 2speed shaft
3. Lightweight chassis
4. Carbon Fiber Front Shock tower
5. Carbon Fiber Rear Shock tower
6. Rear Blade Type swaybar

All I need now are:
1. Titanium screws
2. Lightweight 2 speed
3. Aluminum Hex hubs
4. Bigger tank (if there is any)
5. A more powerful engine

When you put it that way............maybe no so trivial an issue.

Around 8 inches of line for 1cc. Fuel filter probably 1-2cc never measured this one. Problem you will have is that if you have used the tank (run it dry) and you are actually running on the fuel in the line (quite possible with a very long line and filter) when your pitman fills your tank you will end up with a huge airbubble in the line since the tank fills but not the fuel system.

What do you think of the rear blade swaybar? Did you notice that it is much stiffer than the wire? How do you like how it mounts? I am unsure of the way HPI designed the mounting, seems a little off.

Did you weigh the light chassis vs the stock chassis?

Thanks for the info on the fuel line. I like the blade type swaybar due to it's adjustability. With the wire type, you need a couple to fine tune, while with this one, just turn the blade to different angles until you reach your desired setting. The mounting is pretty mnuch straight forward. I was not able to weigh the diffrence of the stock vs mod chassis but just by holding it side by side, you can notice a big difference. I did not bother putting on the stock chassis anymore, you really notice the weight.

how much more tension?
I went up one notch from stock. The rear middle pulley (that turns the rear diff) seems to last a lot longer once I increased the tension.

I don't know what the exact difference is but you can easily tell just by holding both in your hands.

Has anyone tried the 22T front pulley and if so, how much split did you run between the front and rear tires?

About 3 mm split should be fine.

The front internal ratio with the 23T side pulley is 2.42105 (pretty sure! don't have the car here) and the 22T side pulley is 2.31578. This works out to be a 4.5% overdrive situation.

It seems that the split should be around 3mm like D said to keep a 1:1 front/rear ratio.

Their website says 20%: http://www.hpiracing.co.jp/contents_...up_e/0311.html

But that may actually equate to 20g

HPI Racing is proud to announce the release of our newest option part for the R40 Nitro pro racing car: the Light Weight Super Chassis! Machined out of aerospace quality 7075S aluminum, this chassis is 3mm thick for extra strength and stiffness. Many areas of the chassis are milled out to reduce the weight without sacrificing strength, and the cutouts in the chassis are enlarged from the stock chassis. The underside is also beveled on both sides to reduce the chances of the chassis touching the ground in hard cornering maneuvers. To enhance engine cooling, an angled air opening under the motor is cut out to increas the amount of air flowing past the engine! All this adds up to a chassis that is stiffer than the stock version and 20 grams lighter! No racer will want to be without this excellent addition to the R40 option parts line.

Ye of little faith.. (of course, maybe they[HPI USA] lost something in the translation.......)..

As long as its lighter, its good enough for me.......

RACE ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
