Calvin...
that's good to know. Good thing I didn't chop up a good TAMIYA heat sink, haha.

I have no clue about anything on brushless.

Hi,

First of all, the TA04 WC bar does not come with SSG but black carbon. I know because I have one... The SSG is just for the TA04 TRF kit.

Second, concerning the fan, you should definitely move it from there. Indeed, the best place to put it is blowing on the endbell, because the hottest part of the motor is the interface between the brushes and the comm.

Thus you want the brushes to keep as cool as possible, in order first to keep a good efficiency during the heat, and second to increase their lifetime. My fan blows directly on the endbell and this just works the best, you should do it.

Anyway, is the 414 dead ? Nooooooooooo !

I've had 2 EVO3's and still went back to my 414M

Cobra....
The fan on my 414M is pulling the air out, not into the motor. And putting the fan at the endbell area it makes it a hassle to take the motor in and out. Works great for the endbell on my EVO though.

no fan is always better then having a fan

do you put the fan wires on the motor so when you press the gas the fan also goes or directly to the batteries?

never plug it to the motor, they're b/l motors that doesn't like changing revs. Plus, you want your motor to be as cool as possible, then why don't blow at it even off power ?

A fan doesn't uses that much current (something like 50 mA in 5 minutes, nothing compared to the 3300's we have now).

Suradaj : yup it's a hassle, but I was fiwing it with dble sided tape, which is not very secure, but did not have any pb. If yours is taking the air out of inside the can, then it's not that bad, and much more secure...

I did not put the fan wires onto the motor. It's pluged into the Rx. So when I turn the car on, the fan also goes on and it stays on until I turn the car off. I didn't notice any loss in battery with this fan. It suck up very little juice like Cobra had mentioned.
