Tekin RS ESC sensored
so now we got MOD for all the pro guys and then we got stock for all the entry level drivers, so what about the intermediate drivers? these make up the majority at the national events. so do they just run mod?
anyways, back to your normally scheduled program

Stock = for intermediate (although I am sure there will be many "pro" drivers in stock still)
Mod = Everyone that's left
You have 3 classes.
Mod-pros
Stock-intermediate
Sportsman-new guys
Mod is mod.
Stock is 17.5 open ESC.
Sportsman is 17.5 with no timing in the ESC. Apporoved ESC's only. (wouldn't removing the sensor wire be just as affective?)
Since the Roar announcement, my local tracks have been going by these rules. I honestly like it and it seems to be working well.

i agree with those classes. onroad nats will follow these.
but I have heard rumors that the sportsman class will be stock. so there will be no 17.5 with open esc class

the problem i have is stock over here is cooking motors due to the long straights , so the ETS gurus have decided to run a stock class with a contolled speedo and motor with max gearing of 3.5
so for one race i have to buy the speedo , motor and special spurs just for it
if i step up to MOD then i need nothing . thespeed is about the same just the torque is higher ....

Now if you want a little more out of your motor all you do is adjust the software. And batteries are charged the night before. Now that is simple.
guys lets keep this thread on topic....
if you need a thread about the new roar rules, start a thread or go to roars site...they are supposed to have a forum for members....
thanks...

Ok I have been out for a while but this is not correct. I don't ever remember stock being simple. And I know lots of the tricks we used to do to get every ounce out of a stock motor. Including heating the end bell to soften the plastic to get a little more timing to the motor. Or getting heavier magnets, specially cut brushes, etc. Then there was the battery war. Cycle, charge, cycle, fully discharge, dead short until next race. Only charge once a week, cycle , charge, cycle match cells. And the speed controllers were just as important. But if you wanted something different you had to buy another one. I still have a novak cyclone TC spec with a pit wizard to change the drive frequencies.

+1,
the people that are saying that it used to be so simple back in the days are remembering it way too pretty. (or it is just hearsay)
