about them setups.. not to harp on it, but finding posted setups still seems to be a pain.. any chance of grouping them by class, motor and surface somewhere? the facebook page we still have to click through a bunch of thumbnails to find what were looking for..

Have you looked on the Tekin website? They are grouped by onroad, offroad etc and show motor types etc

I run about the same setup as you.
TC, RSPro + Team Powers 11.5, my track is about 30m x 20m, with a straight of about 25m.

Here is my settings:
Car: FDR: 7.0
Motor: Fixed end bell
RS: Sensored mode
Boost: 45
Turbo: 10
Delay: 0.6
Start RPM: 4000ish
End RPM: 12000
Ramp: 2

After 8mins, motor temp is about 50C ish.

this wasn't meant as an affront, but there are for example no wgt setups.

I don't know if this has been covered but I'll ask any way,,,can a "y" harness be installed on the com lead to the speedo so it does not have to be unplugged from the receiver to use the hot wire?

I used the same set up in my WGT as I do in my 1/12 with the same rollout and both performed exemplary today, both ran the fastest of all season. No Turbo Boost and mild timing (35) boost. End rpm was 7K and start rpm 1.4K for 13.5 motors (1/12 has a Tekin and WGT an old Novak SS 13.5). Motors came off the track at around 100*F and both had more infield rip than I can remember. Zero drag brake, 50% brake strength, zero reverse strength, zero push, zero current limit.

Awesome is the only thing I can say about it. Now I don't know what to do about next week since I hit my personal best in both classes today!

I experienced mind boogling runs with my WGT yesterday using fairly similar initial settings. You should be able to slide in some level of Turbo Boost for next week...for another few tenths off of your personal best. There's more to it. Just don't go overboard (as most seem to be) or you will go flat during those 6-8 minute runs.

There is another level of awesome available! Trust me...

AreCee and Still Bill,

give these a try and watch how much faster you'll go. Turbo seems to be a must to really make that motor sing down the straight.

1/12 13.5

40-45 boost
RPM Rng 2400 - 7000
5-10 turbo
ramp - 2
Delay .5
69-71mm roll out

So far I'd say Tekin's doing pretty well....
You are correct Randy, Tekin is doing well and I love the 3 i have but i disagree with Turbo being independent of Boost. Turbo does nothing if Boost is 0 and turbo seems to apply more and more timing as the Boost value increases.

Ex. When I set boost to 5 and Turbo to 15 the free wheel RPM is hardly anything, if I set Boost to 40 and turbo 15 then watch out. The RPM really ramps after the boost timing has been applied. Unless the Novak Sentry I have is broke and me ears no longer work, Boost definitely has an effect on how much turbo advances timing. I guess my observation would be ill found if X deg of timing did not generate an x increase in RPM meaning a linear ramp in RPM in relation to "deg of timing". If this a logarithmic relation then your comment would be correct.

Question, If turbo is set to max or 15 why does it do nothing when boost is set to 0 if there independent of each other?

There's nothing wrong with this dependency, but being the analytical type that I am I like to now how much timing I'm actually applying to the motor. People keep saying you don't want to add more than 60 deg to a BL motor but if I set Boost to 50, turbo to 15, and motor static timing to 30, like my Ballistic, that would be 95 deg. This would not be good correct? But this is exactly how I have my car setup with a 7.3 FDR and it's rock fast reaching 40mph after only 90ft with motor temp of ~165 after 6 min.

Congrads to Tekin on all the top finishes at Snowbirds. I guess those AE controller owners are rethinking there high dollar purchase.

Now that's just plain silly to spill MOST of the beans.

Keep playing with those turbo ramp and delay numbers...And you will be there...For an 8 minute run. I only do 6 minutes with WGT...

Have yet to find a "Y" harness that has a female at the bottom and a male and female at the top. I suppose you could make one. Instead, I just got a short male/female extension that plugs into the receiver and the ESC plugs in the other end. Cheap solution.

get a short servo extension and unplug it from that instead of the receiver.
