do you have to delete thse files from teh computer or from the hotwire? It says current version 203 and under it is has previous versions 200,199,198 on the hotwire. are those supposed to be deleted. I notice it says the same in the pics that randy posted with the setups.

cars are pulling 8k rpm now with the latest software- guys, that is more than a typical family sedan car rpm

I'm not saying use it to your advantage out there, all i'm saying is be careful out there in choosing your gearing and ESC settings.

if in any doubt in a 5 minute run, pull it in after 3 minutes and check your temperatures.

Brushless tech is far from cheap, i'm just saying "be safe and enjoy your racing!" that is all.

we have the latest hotwire software to make you fast, just be careful in how you get there, that is all I am saying.

We are much, much more advanced than we were in the v180 days!

have fun guys, safe racing... if in doubt, always temperature check mid run. better safe than sorry. i'd HATE to see anyone burn up.

that is all...

if i didnt have a family and 2 sons to consider, i would have re applied for sponsorship for 2010 but family has to come first!

Please help!!
we have a lot of FETs to make the drive frequency as smooth as possible, all im saying is brushed motors work very differently from brushless motors.

you could do A LOT worse than strapping in a brushed motor to an rs speed control, as with any brushed motor, the key factor is gearing.

wheel the car consistantly enough and the ESC will serve you well...

Jim and the programming/R&D on this ESC is second to none. Forget about the G11 Pro or FX pro, we are in A main form with the RS/Pro with this ESC in brushed mode. just count the FETs to understand our build quality...

if you are really anal about laptimes, comparre your existing equipment VS an RS strapped in your car and make comparisons.

Hope that helps.

On the bench I have 17.5 motors spooled out to ridicules RPM's, but on the track I find different values due to the load. Just for fun . . .

Lets say your 17.5 12th scale hits 24 mph at the end of your straight with a 3.35" rollout.

24MPH / 60 = .4 Miles Per Minute
.4 MPM x 5,280 = 2,112 Feet Per Minute
2,112 FPM X 12 = 25,344 inches per minute
25,344 IPM / 3.35 IPR = 7,565 RPM

For those mathletes who wanted, by knowing your speed at the fastest section of the track, you can work backwards to the end RPM to input.
Sorry guys guess I didn't go back far enough to see you were talking about a 1S 12th scale set up not a 2S touring car or off road set up. The RPM figures I quoted are for 2S and are taken from a Novak Sentry with RPM sensor connected to motor sensor cable. Buggy peaks out at 34.47mph with IPR of 1.88 giving max RPM of 19400. Of course in the air with no load it gets well into the 30k range.

7000 max RPM sounds quite reasonable for a 1S set up but would be way too low for 2S. Think we need to be sure to specify 1 or 2S clearly when giving set ups, will make sure I do in future
