Just thought I should mention... the post I put at the top of this page (it appears in its original form, quoted by mikky in post 3093) was an April Fool joke... there is no Hotwire "version 4.1" (4.1... April 1st, get it?) Once mikky quoted it, I removed my original to make it look like I "accidentally" leaked a secret test version of the Hotwire software...
reenmachine was the first to figure it out... thanks for not blowing the whistle early on me...
Randy, I hope you didn't get swamped with emails and PM's... I know I got more than a few...
Happy April 1st, everyone...

Just do it.
It would also be extremely cool if the Hotwire software was made to work with Windows Mobile so one could use there cell phone to program the ESC and not have to carry a laptop to the track.

HI, i have an issue with 194, it's just a little bug i think .
Sometimes when i m in reverse mode and i brake that accel the reverse and not brake, we have try on 2 T2 with 194, and both has the problem.
We don't have it with 189.
Anyone has same ?

Isn't 16v4700 a little big? Shouldn't 16v2200 be more then enough? just curious.

I thought that the higher capacity caps had a potentially slower discharge, or they couldnt react as fast to the power fluctuations or something like that.
True or False? Anyone?

i hath a 16v4700 so i used that.
I have tried 24timing on the motor and 25 on the boost.
don;t try this when you want to keep your motor.
I hath a lot of power. I wath super acceleration and the highest top speed.
I did just a few laps and tempt my motor on almost 180.
I didn't hath to drive an other lap or 2 because than it will become very hot.
just wanted to see wath ha pent.
Changed the timing on the motor back to 20 and boost on 20 so in total 55.
This is for the track were i drive the best setup.
good top speed and good acceleration. also lightest geared car on the track.
temps stay well under the 165
Tried later with a speedpassion motor. boost on 28 and geared it heavier.
motor staied also under the 165 but hath to gear 0,5 heavier.
I will test saterday with timing to see if the tekin motor is faster than the speedpassion. feld like it was but the times will show if i'm right.
Thanks for the joke but still i want a lighter interface. it looks great but it's to heavy for my laptop.
2WD
Je kunt je auto zwaarder vertanden als de motor koel blijft.
ga je ook nog eens harder.
ik heb mij ook verbaast dat de motor koel blijft.

Sad thing is, that software interface would be way easier to use. Makes you wonder where the real joke is. :-)

Ran the 194 software today for the first time.
17.5 Rubber Touring, zero motor timing, full boost, sensored only, TP 3, and I like it a lot. Power delivery seems more linear, but there's a definite improvement on low end torque, as apparent by the audible tire spin if get trigger happy out of the hairpins.
If I drive more like I should have been all along, and use the proportional throttle control my DX3r as a proportional control instead of an on-off switch [as is so easy to do in the stock classes], the car has never accelerated so hard out of a corner, and an absolute rocket on the straight.
Also, with no gearing changes over what I was running with 189, temps were down to 125-130*F after a 6 minute run [new club time], and never exceeded 150 even when I decided to hot-swap 4 batteries in an effort to learn the new track layout now that I have the car setup.
I suppose I could gear back up now, but I'll probably leave it alone for now.
