I believe in this past months Racer magazine here in the UK they covered the toy show in Germany. One company has a prototype doing exactly that, can't remember if it was Orion or HW. Had an dataphone next to it showing a rev counter.

I can imagine they wont be far off releasing something like this. Tekin - is there anything on the boards for this, it would meen we could effectively change the profile during practice without having to come in to connect to a laptop !

Default help

Hey guys, here from Chile...I got a question..
How can I get more speed, using stock spec profile??
Here is the problem... with some friends, be bought 3 team orion 8.5t brushless motors.. Two of us have tekin RS pro ESC, and the third have a havok esc...
They are very faster than my car... The fastest men has a kyosho TF5, I have an Xray T2009. The has geared is car with a final ratio of 5.4 with 64p, and I have geared my car to a final ratio of 4.7 with 48p... and my friend stills beeing faster (a lot) than me. My motor is at 64ºC and my friend's motor is at 53ºC...
I move timming in the endbell at the top, I reach more speed at 70ºC...but I still beeing slower than my friend... WTF???
Thants for your help

4.7 sounds like a lot of gear for an 8.5.

Thanks.

So far still no luck getting it to work consistently. I don't have a new cap to try so I am probably just going to send it in.

Agreed, you are probably overgeared by a pretty large margin.

Default rs and 6 turn

Good day all I'm running a tekin rs esc, the website claims Motor Limit in Brushless Mode is 5 Turn can I safely run a 6 turn Team Epic D3 Duo, if so what you would you recommend as far a gearing. Its a large outdoor track, rubber tires and I have a Xray T3 2009. This is my first race I hope to be testing the setup on Saturday. Its a open class and the weather may be in the mid to upper 50s. They say traction is good and Im on sweep tires. All help would be appreciated.

I wouldn't try it in a 4wd on-road with good traction. 4wd on-road is pretty much the highest strain you will put on the motor, and i'd say you would risk shut-down on a regular basis.
Go with the pro, then you won't have to think about any heating issues at all

I've run a boosted 7.5 with a non-Pro RS in high traction touring car no problem. The ESC never went above 3 or 4 lights for temp and that was running 6 minutes. I think you could run a 6.5 no problem.

Hi guys,

I might be blind, but the RS Pro PDF Manual mentions watching Tekins online instructional video to get up and running quickly.

Can anyone provide the link to this video as I cannot find it on the site.

Thanks

Didnt you have a bunch of issues with other brands of ESCs also? I wonder what the problem really is
