Default help identify a car and buggy please (pictures)

my dads friend brought over these 2 cars yesterday because he knew i used to be into this stuff. he wants to to see if i can sell them just to get rid of them but i have no idea what they are. another guy brought over a big truck yesterday to give to me also and i have found out that its a Clod Buster and after looking on ebay i see that those can go for over $100! im thinking that i might keep the clod buster to have fun with around the house, ill just need to replace the electronics since the radio isnt turning on with fresh batteries and it has a manual speed control.

any ideas what these are?

heres the clod buster

Top one is a King Cab or at least thats the same chassis the parts would work with it, and the second one is a Hornet...Not sure about the 3rd. I had the other two when I was a kid 20 years ago.

I might be wrong...........

but the first (I think) is a Tamaiya Pre-runner (based on the Ivan Stewart Toyota desert truck)

second is definately a Tamaiya Hornet (don't sell it too cheaply, I think those vintage alum nerf bars are rare bits)

Last one is a Clodbuster (but you knew that)

That Clod looks like it has some nice hop-up parts on it as well.

The first is a Tamiya Toyota Hilux Monster Racer kit #58086 it was the 86th kit tamiya released.

The second is a Tamiya Grasshopper Kit #58043 43rd produced, it has been modified with some oil filled rear shocks (Looks like option house kyoshos) and a CRP front shock tower.

The third is of course a Tamiya Clodbuster Kit #58065, one of tamiyas longest running kits, untill just a year or so ago you could still buy it new.

Hope this helps

The Yellow buggy is a difficult one. It has the oil filled dampers in the rear that the Hornet came with...however it has rear grasshopper tires mounted to the front...or Subaru Brat fronts. So it could be a hornet or a hopped up grasshopper. Lastly, and I am just throwing this out there as a long-shot, the blue nerf barfs make me want to says it's the rare World Engines Rockbuster...a grasshopper/hornet copy. Of course you'd also have to throw out the Academy Road Runner as a potential as well.

This is one of those times that it's best to keep your comments to yourself. One of those "POS Tamiyas" is worth more on eBay than any of your Kyoshos.

thanks for all of the info. i thought those nerf bars were painted plastic before but you're right, they are aluminum.

i wonder what these may be worth, the hornet looks like the front of the chassis has been reglued or epoxied back together and the body mounts are also both glued back on and its missing the battery cover for the bottom. besides that it seems to be in good shape.

the prerunner is in great shape, the body isnt too bad either. the only thing i see wrong with the truck is that the plastic piece above the motor is cracked and re glued. its got a front sway bar and steel dog bones in the rear

both cars have esc's and am radios and all servos. they are pretty much ready to drive except the radios aren't working for me.
