It must be hella sweet to get things before the general public.

I am hearing it will have much shorter run times like 10 minutes. I need to at least get about 20 minutes from them. Also how long does it normally take to charge 2 lipos?

It takes like an hour. If you need 20 min. I would go with the Maxamps 2s 8000 or 2s 6000 packs.

posted a message to your thread on caster's forum.

You will be running the battery packs in series which will give it 14.8V rating.

As you need a full 20 minutes, You will definitely want to look into a 5000mah + battery pack. 6000mah would be my guess so its pretty consistent that you make runtime, and a motor along the lines of the Neu 1512 2.5D that makes good power but isn't a pig on runtime.

Do you need hardcased lipos?

I do want to try the hard case ones. I spoke to a guy I know who is big in electric and he is going to send me two 4600 NIMH that he makes and says they should be pretty good to last 20 minutes and I can still use my original charger. He still uses NIMH instead of Lipo's so I am going to give it a try for now. If not, then it's "Lipo Time"

Yes it is a castle motor. I should have good info for everyone and be able to better answer questions on gearing and issues.

Helps when you are local... and bad fast too.

Dave doesn't have to call Castle and play phone tag like us mortals... he gets to just walk in the front door and grab what he wants.

Hey, btw... Dave, do you have digital calipers? If so, can you check the measurements on that motor? Diameter and length...

They are available for sale. We got the first one in for Vogel about 2 months ago, ordered 10 for ourselves about a month ago to play with and test quickly, and then another batch showed up about a week ago for sale. Dave got one of the latest batch, he just got it the day after it hit the warehouse....lol. And there are more getting on a boat to take the long ride over, but if we do run out, we will get some more by plane....

Actually the secret to Dave getting this kind of stuff is........he brings me food. Any of you guys that have seen me know that I sure do like my food.

Dave feel free to give out the measurements they are asking for, but just keep in mind that the motor is not a production motor. Just a sample sent to us for approval. (its a loaner for Dave till I can get him something different.) Should be exactly the same thing, but you never know. So dont set those measurements in stone just yet.

Good to know!

I think Dave likes food too... so I'll bring something for both of you next time I'm down there

LOL

About the measurements... I'm curious because it "looks" to be slightly smaller (shorter fins) than a Neu.
