Thumbs down Fuel tanks

Hey,
I broke 2 fuel tanks at the Psycho Nitro Blast.
the second time I had the foam underneath and the screws loosened...

DNF'd the main with a rear broke A-arm.
I'm really P.O.'ed

Pecan, I was in the same boat as you on my first qual., hit the leap of faith and wammo broke fuel tank. I didn't realize it until I came into pit and fuel went all over pit lane. I spoke with a racer later in the day that was running the "ghetto" fabulous ST-RR fuel tank mod.

Place foam under the tank, run a zip tie through the front mounting hole on the tank and secure it to the top plate, place the rear screw and bushing in the rear of the tank as usual, but don't over tighten it. This will allow the front of the tank to float on the chassis when you come off a large jump. Pretty cheezy but I didn't break another tank all weekend long. Finished 5th in B-main and this was my first time on the track with the truck.

No other broken parts on the Truggy to date!

Very creative tank mounting strategy, I'm going to have to try that the next time I encounter some insane jumps!

I've seen people run the zip tied front tank to top plate before or some used to fit a Jammin tank instead. The tank cracking really depends on how hard you land the truck.
