Losi aluminum hop ups
Losi makes lots of aluminum hop ups for the 8ight.
Front aluminum upper place: more stiffness? eye candy?
knuckles and carriers: smoother stronger steering?
F/R chassis braces: I'm assuming they reduce flex. When would you use these?
and the Tuned Flex Chassis. this flexes in the right spaces as Losi claims
is this supposed to be run with stock or aluminum braces
so... the main question: have any of these hopups made a noticeable difference? Are any of them essential? I don't mind making my 8ight more aluminum for performance or eye candy.

Tuned Flex Chassis for plastic braces "I'm assuming" it's new and I don't have one.
To sum it up it's not just eye candy
There is quite a bit of tuning options with all of those parts.

Losi don't actually make a lot of hop ups compared to other manufacturers.
They make what is necessary for tuning the vehicle to the driver and track!
If you like 'eye candy' hop ups then good for you!!

The only alluminum aftermarket parts I put on my 8ight are the rear differential bearing inserts and the center differential bearing insert.
I usually run on rough and blown out tracks and think the stock plastic parts allow the chasis to flex which provides better handling.

adding those hop-up's isnt gonna affect the truck all that much.....i drove mine stock with all the plastics and didnt feel much of a difference when goin to all alloy braces and beefing the truck up....lots of guys claim the flex thing.....but w/e floats there boat imo.

Hmmm... Aluminum parts = more weight. I've never broken any of the parts you listed, so why put heavier stuff on there?
I have the adjustable hinge-pin holders... that is an actual "hop up."

If they would spend half the time, effort, and money to make USEFUL stuff it would be nice. Like a 2-piece center diff mount that isn't $70...

i would buy the aluminum fuel tank, since the stock ones are breaking so often right now.
but to answer your questions on the spindles/knuckles- they actually give the car more steering throw.. but who knows if you can actually feel that on the track or not

The only upgrades you need is the rear diff inserts.
If the aluminum hubs and spindles actually do have more throw, I bet I could modify the plastics to achieve the same effect.
As far as I know, the only pro that used the aluminum hubs was Amezcua, so they must not be that big difference.

amezcua doesnt run losi anymore.. and hasnt for awhile.. so thats kinda some dated info you got there bud

I know some guys that will run the Alum. knuckles on the truggy and the Alum. carriers on the buggy. I could have that backwards, but only one guy I know runs both on the buggy. I had the Alum. chassis braces on both the buggy and truggy, but have since took them off to keep some flex. I do run the Alum. servo saver top pice on both with Alum. servo arms. I think the Alum. top plate for the steering might be worth it on both. The adjustable front and rear arm mounts are the way to go. The Tuned Flex Tech. chassis I am told is worth running and there should be one for the truggy soon, but at 99.99 a pop I might wait on that. There really isn't much Alum. option parts needed for either the buggy or truggy, unless you just have to have them.
