Dave, any tips of setting up Echo PQ? Mine is now approx. 6A with 27000rpm at 7.2V from my MMS... Still a large difference from yours...
Thanks! BTW, I put Atlas sprinter brush on it!

i managed to dabble with my 1/12 yesterday, though its worth 2 packs runtime only. using yok 23T RSL with 48dp 74t spur and 18t pinion and rear tire diameter 52mm using gp3300, geared 4.11. i run both packs till car IS noticeably slower but not till crawling, the motor temp is only slight warm, can put your hands there for more than 5sec no problem. also the batts were only slight warm, looks good so far, the comm looks quite clean too. the car had plenty of mid/high end power, easily catch up with cars on the str8s. but 1 thing i noticed is that at the end of the str8 when i let off throttle the car visibly slowed, sort of automatic brake even though i didnt set any drag brakes on in my esc. is it due to the strong magnets in the 23t motors?
so how's your 1/12 dabbling over the weekend gone?

hey,
is dave jdm_dohc_sir???
newhom, haha
i was wondering what sort of gearing to use with an atlas solid (laydown and standup) and an atlas splash team edition, the black blue and red one.
the tracks we run on are faily flowing, one is particularly fast with a massive straight and only 2 kind of sharpish corners that are still fairly flowing. the straight would be about hmm......50 metres long or so maybe more
the other track has a similar straight with a sweeper, and then a fast flowing chicane section before a 180degree turn onto another straight, then some hairpin chicanes.
both tracks are fairly flowing and dont require any braking at all, mayb alittle let off of the throttle but otherwise its put the power down and try and smoke everyone else,
haha, so after all that, do u have any reccommendations for the atlas solids and the splash, gearing wise?
also, what version of the yokomo motors would go well on these tracks, the lr? or one of the others
thanx in advance

Yes I got the momo, because of JDH's recommendation.
Anyway, I looked at the endbell, and noticed a green look computer chip thingy, is that the motor cap?
I understand that I am suppose to have 3 caps on the motor:
1 positive to can
1 negative to can
1 positive to negative.
So now with that little chip, does it mean I don't have to put any more caps on the motor?
Also do you know the gearing for medium size track for the momo? The LHS told me 5.2-5.4!?

lawndoggie....we really need JDM on this. Dunno about the "green chip" myself..perhaps u r about right. anyway, i doubt extra capacitors will harm the motor.
i've seen stock xenon taking severe abuse thru high gearing and still performed well. I've had mine close to 5 previously but boy it came out cooking ! LOL !!

hey everyone,
i was wondering what is the best 23t motor for open flowing tracks, has some kinda tight corners but mainly need the top end......... can anyone help me out?
also, i have an atlas solid (stand up), and atlas solid (laydown), and an atlas splash team edition....... could somebody tell me how to get the most performance out of these motors?
we are allowed to run bearings in this series, so is that a worthy addition to the motor?
please if any one can help me out, let me know asap, as i really wanna squeeze every little bit out of these motors
thanx ,
robbie lloyd
