The bronze bushings where the motor shaft sits on. One at the front (pinion end) and one at the back (brushes end). Just needs a tiny drop of oil in each, turn the shaft a few times then wipe off the excess outside.

But the max a stock TB01's plastic motor mount can take is 25t AV. I don't know if the alloy motor mount (with slots instead of A/B/C/D preset motor positions) can take any bigger pinions.

So the 27t is only for TA04. TA04 kits come std with 25t, and there's room for a couple more pinion teeth before you need to change the 87t AV spur (which is the only AV one they make) for something else. Third-party companies have been making AV pinions in 26 and bigger for a long time now.
The aluminum motor mount will allow you to mount any gear combination you want. I had this tuned P2K2 on my CF TB01 that I geared with 25t pinion and 61 spur and it's begging for more pinion!! If I had known tamiya has the 27teeth...

"Any" is a relative term... eventually you'll run into spatial difficulties (ie run out of room).

Errr... why are you using the 61t spur, btw??
Shouldn't you be using the *smallest* 55t spur instead?

61/25 gives 6.34:1... this is by nowhere "high".
With 55/25 you'll get 5.72:1.
If you can stuff a 55/27 in, you'll get 5.3!!

Don't know too much about the P2K2; I run my torquier P2K
at 5.46:1 on a very large track. I just unwrapped a Monster
(higher RPM design?) last weekend too, on the same track
it wants 5.77:1 to keep up with the P2K. Might have to try
1t less to see if I can get more infield speed, but the Monster
isn't getting overly hot @ 5.77 - definitely cooler than the batts.
Anything higher and the Monster bogs down even more.

Square or some other Jap optionpart maker made a spurgear
holder for EvoI/II/TB01 that takes standard spur gears.
If you want to experiment with gearing, this part is very handy.
I prefer to use 48dp gears rather than Tamiya's metric AVs.

Orchard Plaza is S'wan. Yes, they've been there 20+ yrs, Auntie Winnie* will always look after you well. They probably have best lot of Tamiya stuff outside of TaiSing.

(*alamak, I now so old when call her "Auntie" make her feel old/insulted. Next time I better start using "sister".)

Singapore is a small country... last time I was in town I went and
visited *every* RC shop in the whole island - no joke, even got
pix of every one I went to.

Also depends what you're looking for. Most of the other shops
are specialists in only certain brands. Sam Cheng @ Far East is
another old kaki, been racing for 20+ years. Good guy to chat to,
check out his old Tamiya 280Z Nissan.... RC cars have come a long
way in the last 25 yrs!!

True that

The P2k2 motor that I used will overheated with this gearing. I can touch for more than the mandatory 3 seconds with this gearing. I forgot to mention that this is on night race not hot day race. I think I would probably gear down on the pinion side more on regular normal track temperature.

See above reason

Hmmm...I'll try that as soon as I get my hands on my TB01...I cannot wait!

Yeah...some other company...I can't remember the name of it but I heard it got burnt down earlier this year and I happen to have the spur gear holder for the F201, too. I tried to fit that with my TB EVO II but the hub is too long and need to be trim down to where the pin rests.

Haha, ya, good idea. Should take into account surrounding temp, y'know Newton's laws and all that.

Ambient air temp here is about 15degC (warm winter day!) and the track surface is about 20degC. I usually let to motor get to about 60-65degC before I start worrying; batteries usually about 45-55degC.

Around about 60degC is the touch=pain level...

(Couple o' years ago, I "invested" in a IR temp gun for nitro, but its real handy for electric too!! )

Must be "Cross" then!!

Yes, very "suspicious" fire in Japan factory/warehouse, so I hear.
