Scotty is in Heemstede, The Netherlands for round 3 of the European Touring Series. He will be home early next week. He will give an update at that time.

Please make the invite guys have unlimited tires. Let's take the second run/slow tires out of the equation and let them battle it out every round. They put on a great show and let all of them battle it out whether they are starting from front or back. My 2 cents.

Considered. But won't work because of this...

It will be impossible to keep it secret. And even if it could be, there would be speculation that some (the fast guys) knew in advance.

This is also being considered and is likely to be adopted.

Is this a result of the track conditions, wrong compound chosen or just normal?

Most rubber tires, RP30's in particular, are usually .2-.3 faster on the first run. Invite class has 8 races and 4 sets of tires being allowed. So other than round 1, half the field would be on freshies, half would be on re runs so you'd have 3 maybe 4 cars running fast, the others just out there to try and salvage some points. There are a few occasions where someone was ballistic even on re runs. But not many. The point of limiting tires is to keep cost down. These guys don't pay for their tires anyways. So why restrict them. Let 'em throw down every run. Some guys run the 2 new tires in the rear, last runs rears in the front. That works for some, others it doesn't work at all.

AGREED!

One of best things about attending this race is watching the top guys in the world duke it out, head-to-head, every round.

A little of everything. The Tamiya track was getting along in age and the asphalt was pretty rough, so tires were hammered after a run. On a different surface it may not be as drastic, but chances are new tires are still going to be faster no matter what the asphalt is like. RP30s are a good tire, so doubt switching to a different one will have any change in the life or worse if they switch to a tire that lasts it may be horrible for traction. When I ran at Roseville before the new expansion, the surface was very smooth and tons of traction, so rerun tires weren't as big of an issue. Now I'm sure the new asphalt is as good if not better, but the limitations of quantities for the invite guys shouldn't be a deciding factor for a fast heat or not. The other classes is a different story, but I won't start that up. Let the best in the world duke it out.

Such a good idea, unlimited tires for invite.

1. much better to watch

2. they don't pay for stuff anyway

3. no 'issues' about who broke what 'deal'
