Default t3 or t4

hey guys, is there much difference between the t3 and t4? if so, why and how is the t4 that much better? would it be that noticable difference on the track between the two? i currently have a team t2 truck and have been out of the hobby for 8 yrs. thanks.

I have owned every version associated truck since the original. The T3 was light years better than the original T. The T4 is better than a T3 but not as much of a diff.

The T-4 pushes the truck to the legal limit on width and has much more tuning options. It is better on smooth tracks and much better on bumpy and loose tracks. The 2.6 transmission is better suited to the truck and modern motors.(T3 has a 2.4)

With that being said a pro driving a T3 and T4 with the same electronics and tires would only be slightly faster with the T4. Maybe a .1 sec. per lap faster. But in racing every little bit helps.

I currently run a T3 and LOVE IT and dont plan to upgrade till a T5 is released but I would say to get the T4.
The T3 is probably the most bullet proof truck out there because I have run all summer with only replacing one part. (Front Top Plate)
But the T4 seems to be more agile around the track than the T3. (Like a SportsCar vs. a Truck)

thanks for the replies guys. i'm also looking at the durability of the truck since i'm gonna be doing some "free-riding" with it when going camping. i heard that the t4 front end can break much easier than the t3, so i think i'm gonna go with the t3. i wont be doing any serious racing with it. now i just have to find someone willing to sell me their t3 for fairly cheap!

I would get the T4 and just get some rpm arms when you break the stock ones.

RPM Arms are the strongest you can get period. IMO they are the best rc arms made

For competition I would steer (sorry about the pun) clear of the RPM stuff. It doesn't break because its as flexible as a rubber band. You are bashing so its not as critical, but I would recommend putting GT2 front end parts on it instead. They are very beefy and don't compromise the handling at all.

I have had a set of the RPM front arms and GT2 hinge pins sitting here for about a year, I was hesitant to put them on because I thought you had to get rid of the FT alloy front hingepin brace to install the RPM arms. Is this true, and if so do you start breaking bulkheads instead of arms without it?
