Just got back from this Race.
This is one of the Best Race I have been. I highly Recommended ANYONE to attend this race for next year.
It was Well organized, the timetable was well prepared, facility was excellent, everything run smoothly and the racing qualify was really Top notch.
The best part of course was the lucky draw at dinner prepared by the organizer with over 100 prizes(from tires, body to "Axial" Engine ) something for everyone and some even got 3 prizes but you must drink 3 glasses of Red wine to collect your prize. For RMB$120 (US$17) you cannot beat that.
Anyone like Chinese food should just fly here for the food!!
MUST GO RACE FOR 2009

The race was held at the "Chun Lim Resort " ZhongShan China on 16th and 17th Feb, 2008. This is the 14th Year running of the "Chinese New Year Celebration Cup" The track is inside a resort with rides, recreation activities and with nice Hotel facility so it attracts lot of drivers, their family and visitors.
The forecast was raining on the weekend but we had over 80 entries, 1 class 1/10 scale Touring car, so it was a good turn out numbers. The format is traditional 3 qualifiers on Saturday, and 1 qualifier on Sunday using best result from Saturday grouping the fastest in their group division. We have some rain delay on Saturday so we finished rest of the qualifiers on Sunday morning.
The race result for A main
1st , Samuel Chiu ( Hong Kong) driving NT1,
2nd, C.M Tam (Macau ) NT1
3rd, Y.C. Lim (China) NT1
Bmain
1st Chris Lee( Hong Kong, me ) NT1
2nd G.W Lau (China) Kyosho RRR
3rd G.H. Chuk (China) NT1
Axial Hong Kong was there to support the race. This is the Traditional Chinese New Year Race of the 14th year running so we were treated with the After Race Dinner Party by the organiser. Over 120 prizes were giving out during dinner with Axial Giving out the Grand Prize a .28 Axial Off Road Engine. Amount other prizes included the Fuel Bottles, Body stiffeners, Tires , bodys and many more. Since we have more prizes then drivers, whoever received their second prize was required to drink certain amount of Red Wine ( which by the way was Very good wine) "strictly" according to the Organizers discretion This range from 1 glass to 3 litre so you could image some driver have to be carried out after Dinner!
Great racing facility, delicious 8 courses Chinese meal and free Prizes for everyone, no wonder the numbers are growing every year. BTW. the entry fee is equal to US$17.....
