Which 1/8 buggy??
Ok..so I have read many posts regarding what is the best 1/ 8 nitro buggy and its clear they all have advantages. But, any thoughts on which one provides the best overall package with the following in mind:
- Great handling for newer racers
- Ease of getting parts
- Solid reliability
I am ready to pull the trigger on the RC8 but want to make sure I am not making a mistake. (I am an old MP5, 6 guy but not sure the higher priced 777 is the right way to go)

To just answer your question I would say a Mugen 5R even though I have and love my RC8. I say the 5R because I think it would be a little easier to drive. You can't go wrong with either car. For that matter, there are many cars you can't go wrong with like the CEN, Jammin, Losi, Kyosho etc.. All of these are well supported and have plenty of parts available.
Now, let's look at this from a slightly different and more practical perspective. Since you will be racing, I think you should go to your local track and see what brands of cars are running there. You will need set up tips and maybe borrow parts if you break. Sharing tips and borrowing parts are part of racing and it doesn't make sense to have a car that is not popular at your local track. Then you should find someone that is fast, knows what he is talking about and most importantly is friendly. Ask him his thoughts on what brand car you should purchase. Just make sure the car is popular at the track. Also, they will help you start making friends and for the most part drivers are always willing to help people who are getting started.
I had a friend who bought a great car, but wasn't able to get any setup support at the local track because no one was running the car. A great car is worthless if you can't get it setup properly. I hope this helps.

There is definately no definitive answer, but based on your criteria. I would either say the LOSI 8IGHT or the RC8.
The Mugen and Kyosho are great buggies, however In my experience they are much harder to get parts for than the losi and the rc8, at least in the northeast where I live.
All is said and done though I think these 4 are very comprable in performance, quality, durability and price. Any major difference is going to be in the driver and setup of the vehicle.
P.S. No matter where I've gone, associated parts are everywhere, every LHS and every major online vendor has them in plentifull supply.
