The biggest change that helped stop the traction rolling was to cut down the tires and lower the ride height of the car as follows.

Cut Tires Down :

Low Grip (Club Night) : 55mm or 2.16 inches
High Grip (Major Race) : 53mm or 2.08 inches

Lower Ride Height :

4.5 to 4mm front / middle / back.

pt,

I like Capt'N Slow's info above. Cut your tires for club racing and then set ride height at 4.5mm for NorCal carpet.

Tire size: 55mm for front & rear...This is club racing. Any spec tire (CRC, Jaco, etc.)

Gearing: Use 88T spur and have 29/30/31 pinions. All are 64 pitch.

Timing for Duo 1: Least timing advance. Screw showing in hole on left as you look at the end plate.

We can do your ESC setup at NorCal on either race days...Thursday or Saturday. I bring my netbook and HotWire. No problem.

See me at the track.

And welcome to the fray.

Bill

I have been very happy with Losi CA glues for such. They make a regular and a thin version of it.

After applying, spread it evenly with a Q-tip or knife blade edge to distribute a consistently thin layer.

Thank you. I have one, I use it in off road.

Back on topic. My front tires are wearing much quicker than rear. It is supposed to be this way or I have wrong setup?

When I was running GRP Pinks I would wear out my fronts quicker than my rears, also the car was like it was on a knife edge and would sometimes skip in corners.
Since going up to the next compound, GRP Magenta's, the skipping stopped, the car was more relaxed, the lap times faster, and tyre wear front and rear now even.

Not sure if I can get a 5th meeting out of these tyres?
(about 40 minutes of running each meeting)
track is outdoor asphalt and the tyres now 57mm
(additive now wears off the rears too fast)

Sorry, forgot to mention that my tires are Jaco 2100 and 2110. And I can use only tires that are defined in World GT rules http://www.worldgtrc.com/World%20GT%...s%20-%2009.pdf

If they are the Jaco tyres on those carbon wheels, then you will eat the fronts more than the rears, and you may also find the car a little pointy, good for indoor carpet, but not for outdoor asphalt.

Default setup help

During practice my car feels really good and lap times are the fastest of the day for me. As the day goes on the carpet builds up grip the car seems way too planted and the lap times get slower. Should i try to stiffen the car up or free it up? I was thinking to stiffen the damper tubes and maybe go up one rate on the tweak springs? Changing tires is not a option, only wgt spec tires are used. Thanks for the help

I only do half of the rear already. Its almost like the rear is way too planted and needs to be looser or i need to get more steering to swing it around.

Do you clean your tires (with lighter fluid) between runs? Otherwise, your traction compound probably builds up too much as the day goes on.
