I like the Gen X10, but it seems fragile compared to other cars i run. We use high curbs and i busted 2 front ends on left side. The walls are on right side on car so it's not about hitting hard wood but more to me running lots of curbs on corner entry and taking tight lines into corners. I run 13.5T with 2s lipo and orginal size tires with 24t pinion and 100t spur. Speed is equal to the Tamiya F1's i run it against.
But it seems my Tamiya F103 have more front grip compared to it, running Zen 38's upfront and Zen 35's rear on the F103, on the Gen X10 i run CRC WGT specs. I have the Jaco WGT specs too, not tested them yet, is there a big difference between Jaco's and CRC's?
Rear end has tons of grip and it makes for a interesting drive.
Traction compoud is Paragon Ground Effects.
How are the springs rated? Like Tamiya F103 you have Gold (soft), Silver (medium) and Black (Hard).
Is it recommended to add side dampers?
The only way for me to stop torgue steer was to smear Tamiya anti friction grease on the torpedo tubes. (Very thick and sticky grease)
After that the car tracked straight and true with no drama.
The car has alot of potensial to be a challenger on our track, but right now the Tamiya F1's blow it away on their sticky Zen tires. Those cars have almost 2 years of running at the track with lots of tracktime so i need to catch up on set up.

Zen tyres Sticky?
I'm looking for good F1 tyres for my 3racing F109.
I run GRP Magenta's front and rear on my 2s 17.5 CRC with PF Corvette on a highish grip track.

Where is everyone placing their 1s lipos? I was going to try right in the middle to start with but should I have it front or rear instead?
Thanks
Thanks

Whether or not the ESC is directly behind (good traction/carpet) or on the side (low traction/asphalt) is an option in my mind.

What rules does your local track use for 10th scale pan car/WGT?

The only things I would add is that the IIC set-up linked to in your (Bill's) post 1051 is a pretty darn good starting point and that I am very much in favor of the center speedo mount.

You just need someone to chime in that knows the Tekin RS ESC then...

GIJoe,
We were just at a race at RC Plus in Salem, OR in the beginning of December for the NWIC Series. Small track, I believe about 36 x 65 or so with medium to medium high bite. I think there was about 22 or 24 WGT entries. By weekends end the consensus on the RS and RS Pro was no Turbo and max timing (30) with a rollout somewhere between 63 and 73 (opinions varied). I was running 53mm rears with gearing of 35/88 (66 rollout). I tried most gearing between 32/88 and 39/88 with different turbo and timing profiles during the 3 days. With the track being so small there was never enough time for turbo to really kick in but yet running it caused more fade in punch and speed toward the end of your run.
As far as car setup for this track I had to add back in some steering compared to Timezone (High bite). I ran the wide track front with purple springs and lower front CRC carbon brace (others had the manutech top brace). Front tires were 52mm, rears 53mm with 4.25 - 4.5 ride height. Front camber was 1 deg neg. Rear suspension 50k dampening tubes, green side springs, 25 weight losi shock with AE 17.5lb spring. Sauced full rear and 1/3 front. Front tires glued edges.
Check out Bryan Wynn's IIC setup as well.
Good luck and thanks for running my chassis,
Troy
