thanks,

perhaps I have some more to show ;-)

__

which brushless-engines are you using for asphalt outdoor tracks?

drivers here tend to use 4-5.5turn engines

wanna update my car ;-)
new year - new gear

looking for this combo:
LRP Sphere Competition (Brushless+Brushed)
Vector X12 BL Modified -> 4.5 to 5.5 (maybe the octawind)
and some new lipo´s like
LRP LiPo Akku RC Auto VTEC 7.4 Volt 5300 mAh 30C

(yes I like LRP - never had problems with it/ but I am open for other brands)

does someone use a similar combo?

i know it will be even faster then before ;-)
I know the speed from my serpent 1/8 - so that´s nothing to worry

target :
outdoor tracks (230-330 meters length)
scaring nitro and the rest of the world
having fun :-P

greetzzz

any suggestions for engine/electronics?

5.5 turn brushless

speed controll should have automatic brake, launch controll , perhaps anti lock braking ;-)

want to burn lap-records into the tarmac

"club-legal" would be a bonus ;-)

sphere-competition-tc-spec-brushless-brushed
GM-GENIUS 120 BRUSHLESS
-> any experience with these speed-controllers ?

don´t think so ;-)

1/8 nitro´s hitting 120km/h usually don´t fly

perhaps you use another competitor as a ramp or hitting a curb badly ...

so 1/10 are lighter - but there is ONE thing to solve this problem : DOWNFORCE

GM's Genius is the smoothest and more complete Esc you can find around,i'm using a Genius120 GenII with a 235mm. Corally Link with a 8T/6T Delta motor but using this car only for the fun of plaiyng, i want the best for it regardless of regulations and i choose this Esc after having tried many others.
I also have an XRay X10Link i'm using for Racing with a Speed Passion Cirtix 13.5 because of some stupid rules that requires exclusivelly the use of this controller but during test drives i rather use a Tekin RSpro with a 10.5.
You can find all of the features you are looking for in both esc's but the differences between the two are huge, mostly in erogation and programmable features. The German esc is way more smooth have more options and takes out more from motors running them cooler too. It's harder to use the Programming software on the GM but is more complete and have more programmable features.Inboard telemetry and porgramming card are also other features offered from the GM that are missing to the RSpro.
Don't get me wrong i'm a great supporter of Tekin products (i own four Tekin esc's and a couple of GM's) but when it comes the need of a smooth throttle control nothing is better than a Genius.

Cannot say it since i don't know how big are the tracks you are driving, and our cars are so different. I wouldn' t suggest using a CRC with anything lower than a 10.5. the best i can say is get a delta wound motor and feel the difference ( GM's and Corally) a 12T GM delta is equal to a 6.5 star, figure it by yourself about an 8T delta is about. I personally don't like LRP motors after some very bad experiences in sedan class (read it: "thermal"). GMpro are good motors some are etter for 4wd's and others are more suited to 2wd's,there are also some delta's in that line of products perfect for any scale pancar.

I just read the first pages of the gm esc manual ;-)
there is a rev. (rpm) limiter and so on

so I think I can give the 5.5T or something in this class a try and set a rev-limit if necessary ;-)

search in youtube for :
Pro10 Bamberg 3rd SM Lauf 2009 1st A-Final
or
Norispokal 2010
or
Roll-Out XRAY NT1 beim MAC-Nürnberg

so you get a feel for the type of tracks I wanna go ;-)

PS:
first track I drove my indycar/ xray/ pro3 with 2speed gearbox - what a day that was :-)
second track I drove my serpent950 ;-)

well i've seen now we are from the same part of the planet: easier to understand your driving needs, sure you wont use this thing with a single lousy cell. . .
I believe your best choice is some thing like a GMpro 9T Delta and a good pack of 50C 2S.
Until your cars axle can take it ,it'll be a good experience. My previous CRC 235 couldn't take a cheesy Novak 7.5L in Lostallo track

What type and brand of rear axle do you suggest using for a 200/235mm x10-link?
Also do you know of a rear pod that can be used with the X10.link that can house 48pitch spurs and pinions?

Nice video! Makes me want summer even more than before.
