Default 1/10 pan car

I have spent lots of time and money on R&D to come up with my own work machine. This is what I ended up with, a 1/10 electric pan car. It uses 3 cell lipo battery, Mamba max esc, 4600 motor and high downforce le mans body. Overall weight of around 900 gram. The car is slightly smaller than a 1/8 car but it has very low CG and low profuile body.

Straightline speed is slightly slower than 1/8 nitro cars. When it comes to tight corners, sweeper and chicane, the high power to weight ratio really gives me big advantage.

Love me or hate me, after trying both i have to say electric is the way to go. The late Colin Chapman is right when he says given a choice between lower weight and more powerful engine, he would prefer the former. Wish that he's still around to see how the car outruns the nitros.

If you really want to compare both 1/10th TC GP vs EP , you have to make them as even as possible like what they do in full scale racing . Heres how it goes....

Nitro :
1) Drop the second gear
2) Run highest Nitro possible
3) Use outlaw small block engine .12 & pipe
4) Car weight 1750g

Electric:
1) Use the best battery available for EP car
2) Use the best motor available for EP car
3) Add weight to equal the nitro car (1750g)
4) Cut 50mm hole in the in the windsreen of the body shell like the nitro car

Race them on any race given race track.
1) one 5min race
2) one 30min race with pit stop

Now you tell me whos going to win and how... In other word , thats the closest comparison between Apple & Mango .

Me personally i like nitro , we base our hobby to the real full scale car, thats why we got rules to follow.. Nitro racing is closest to the real thing (Engine , gas,tuning,pit-stop and so-on)... The only Electric racing ive know that recognise was the Solar power electric racing across australia and all the cars are slow and look disgustingly stupid.. Perhaps theres more that i dont know about , please feel free to add them and let us know..
