LiveRC.com
#5
Well, I think my ISP might be the problem (TWC). Yesterday I had to reset my cable box and today I can't get to Live RC (DNS Error). But... if I jump on a neighbors network (shhhh... don't tell) with a different ISP; I can get the Live RC page.
Well, started with live chat, then to transferred to standard customer support, then to top teir support and now I am waiting on a call back from "engineering".
The issue is DNS name resolution. IE what IP address is http://liverc.rccars.com. You can type in http://70.87.18.205/ and get to the main page, but you can't click on the LiveRC.com because you are back to DNS name resolution.
Anyway, I will post my progress here for anyone else experiencing the problem.

You can set up local dns
You can set up local dns. I have all the important addresses in mine. My provider has problems keeping dns up as well. Do a search on how to set up lmhosts on XP. Its the same as the host file on Unix basically. The machine will look there first before going out on the net for an address. If you keep all the addresses you use most of the time in the lmhosts file it makes things go faster as its not looking up these addresses.
