I've heard about this motor a few times, but never been able to find it for sale.

We had the brushless come to our club late last year, when people visited from another club, and we still have people running the sport tuned.

I had one of the quicker sport tuned, a change to the hobby wing and with a car thats still not as quick as it should be and I can lap around 2 seconds quicker. There is still another second to make up to get to the front of the pack.

But the change has made the racing much closer at the same time.

Just building up my m05 pro. I've gotten the m-chassis alloy shocks and wondering should I use the 2 hole or 3 hole pistons? If it helps with the answer I'm going to run on a large track, medium traction asphalt (outdoor).

Thanks
John

This is how I have mine set up. I also race on asphalt. I use the two hole piston in the front since the front of the car is heavier (with motor) and the three hole in the rear since the rear is lighter. Now with springs I have medium in the front and hard in the rear but I do change now and then just to see how the car handles with different spring set up.

In UK Tamiya minis at my local clubs (Kent) is taking off.
At the moment we run any sealed brushed motor no less than 20T.
Some of our clubs are looking at allowing Hobbywing 35A, 13T motor system to run with above brush motors.
Most of our clubs run on carpet.
What are your views on Hobbywing 35a 13T system, I know some of you run Tamiya black can sport-tuned motors with Hobbywing in same race meets.
Do you find Tamiya black can motors slower??
We find the Tamiya black can motor is slower compared to Ansmann 21T, HPI Saturn 20T motors we use now.
Really hoping that Hobbywing system will not be any faster.
After talking to a lot of UK racers thinking of racing Minis, the main thing that’s putting some off is going back to brush motors.
If brushless was allowed, I think it would make minis even more popular in UK.
Ben
It will be interesting to see what you come up with.

Round here we are using the 20T Saturn motor with great success. We allow open gearing and tyres.

But there will be people that want a brushless alternative. Personally I am a little wary of the 13T EZRun route due to it's sensorless design, I would prefer to see the class go in the direction of a zero-timed sensored 17.5, either blinky spec or one of the all-in-one motor/esc packages from Novak, Speed Passion or Hobbywing.

Unfortunately you are never going to get true equivalency of performance, but if we can find a motor rule that is the appropriate speed for the mini, and not a dead end in terms of transfer to another RC class, that can only be a good thing.

Sosidge, we've been testing 17.5 systems at my club as replacements for silver cans and they're spot on. Torque is a bit higher, but top speed is perfect. If you're running a 20t currently, you may want to consider a 13t system.

We'd go that way, but found 13t far too fast for our shorter, higher grip track surface.

We run 18T or equal at our track. I use the Tamiya TBLM-01 18T motor in my mini and its a great motor a little expensive it has good top end speed.

With thanks to the good people at Tamiyablog who as usual are first with Tamiya stuff.

Here's the first pics of the new M05S.

Looks like very cheapo shocks too. Looks like all plastic even the piston rod..
But that's for the drawing. Pic seems to show real shocks.

Interesting ... they could be the Tamtech front tires. Tamtech rims are near enough the same diameter as mini rims.

What size internal shock spacers are people running on their M05?
