I've found an identical screw in my slotcar collection so that's resolved cheers.
I've just realised what I've done - been confused by Tamiya's destructions which make the MA12 850 bearing look like the 1150 Sealed Ball Bearing
. Discovered this by searching ebay on the spare part code and thinking "hang on, that's a different colour and looks...err.. just like these two in the box."
Told you I was a newbie.
In my defense, the instructions do illustrate the bearing with four concentric circles which does make it look like a ballrace!

Granpa is right, but I would disagree with the comment that their instructions are the best. They are very good indeed, but the downside is that Tamiya doesn't package the parts needded for one step in one bag and you have to rummage through a lot of bags sometimes. Sometimes you have to consult the pictures at the back to correctly identify the next part you need. This is annoying still after building shedloads of Tamiya kits.
Missing parts were not a part of Tamiya's repertoire until recently. This caugth me by surprise recently when I bought a M06 Pro and found two whellbearings missing completely. No biggie for me as I have a large collection of bearings of all sizes, but if I didn't, I would give them a piece of my mind for something like this. In the past they were quite good and put more screws and tiny little bits (washers, etc) than needed in the kits but not sure what happens now. Perhaps the GFC got to them.
With the bearings, make sure you identify them correctly. The part pictures on the left hand side of the manual are actual size, so put your bearing on top of the picture, and it should match. The sizes actually give you the internal and external diameter if you dind't know (1150 for instance is 5mm inside, 11mm outside).
All that being said, they are still great kits and nice cars. The standard needs to be kept though.

I have an M05 I havnt played with in months. I was wondering if its ok to put in my 17.5 non boost motor with stock gearing. Will it be dangerously over/under geared? I do not have extra gears to fine tune the FDR.

From what I have heard a non-boosted 17.5 in a M05 would be undergeared and about the same speed or a touch slower than a silvercan.

It will be fine. Should run abut the same as a silver can. Might not be competitive on a long track though.

Mainly cos of the hours I'm currently still working, and secondly because we actually need to build the test equipment for this one...and it's not easy.
But it'll happen....
