You probably know that Regina still has a WCICS race. Was there mid-February in that Christian College gym. 120 ft straight, Ozite carpet on glass smooth surface!!!
Found it! First video was last years Mini A Final in Calgary during the Red Dot Silver Can days on one of our clubs’ promotional video page.

The second video is this years Mini A Final in Calgary using the Orca Q Spark Brushless Motor Combo. Choked big time under a minute to go in both races. Can you guess which car I’m driving?

Where are you located in the West Coast? How's the Mini turnouts there?

Nice vids! Looks like you got run over in the first one at the end of the race. Your car in the second race is the one with the flag.
You got PM to not clutter up this thread.
Upon further examination it's the spline in the outdrive/hole that's stripped.
I'll finish the season with the gear diff.

I've got the sorriest question of the day: Does anyone know the length of the damper piston rods in the 54000 dampers? I'm sorting through some parts and I've found a few lengths. Having never bought anything but mini parts, I'm a little bit mystified.
Questions about M03
- Is there any oil filled diff made for this car? Anybrand will do.
- I browsed a bit about Xevo conversion, where can I get it? Is it massively better handling than the original M03?
- What pinion teeth should I match when using Ride speed gears?
Thanks in advance.

-3Racing (and a few others) make an oil filled diff for the 05/06. It won't fit the 03/04.
-The Xevo is hard to find these days. You'll only find it used. It handles very well, but I've read that the ABC Gambado/Grid is even better, and it's still available.
-What pinion you use will depend on track conditions, motor, etc. the Ride/3Racing speed gears are crap, btw.
Where are you racing? Seems like the rules are fairly liberal.

Measuring through the baggy of an unopen black version set of the 54000, I get around 26mm. I hope this is close enough to let you differentiate your damper shafts.

Cheers! Sounds about right. I think the longer ones are from the clear shocks in the M-06 kit. Never did put those together.

This brings up a pet peeve of mine, which is the practice of using the overall shock length as a measurement. With the variations in piston rods, a more meaningful measurement is the one from the top of the coupler to the bottom of the shock body. This gives you a more accurate idea as to what the shock is doing. This refers to the TC shocks only.
I have several sets of the Mini shocks, but do not like them. Because of the small oil volume, the shock action can be erratic. They are okay on the higher grip tracks, but do not work as well on parking lot or outdoor asphalt tracks which are usual lower grip. These surfaces usually require softer springs and more suspension travel. A situation that does not favor the small Mini shocks.

HPI E10 pinion - do they fit? I am having real hard time to find 20t pinion which is 0.6m and not crap? I hope those E10 pinion fits.
I wonder, do anyone make 48dp spurgear for m03/m05 ?

The Orca system runs at 2200kv, which works out to where a "traditional" unmolested silver can would sit. (about 15,850rpm at 7.2v) It might seem a little slow when compared to some of the newer, hotter silver cans, but on our shorter carpet tracks, it works perfectly. The added bonus is loads of torque.
Jim
I can help you with that one. Most of these guys aren't in western Canada and the spec Orca system is made specifically for us. (WCICS)

I haven't posted for quite a while. So I thought I would post a few pictures of my current Aussie mini and my TITC thailand MO5, that has been modified with the speed gear set and 17.5 no timing BL system.
Attached photos are the TITC car fitted with Tamiya rubber front and rear. I tried M grips up front and S grips on the rear. My next test will be Type B's front and rear and S grips front and rear. The body is my new shell painted by Mad Makem for this car.
