Tips on tire maintenance

Guys,

any tips on how to maintain your tires

?
also, how do you clean them?

I use simple green it will make them a little tacky for you and other then rotating them thats all i do

water with simple green and a brush but never duk them brush them with a moist brush.

how do you make them shiny like a new tire?

Scrub them really well with a moist brush. The tricky part is to not let the inner foam get wet, so don't put them under water

Simple Green is by far the most popular.

I've also used other brand degreasers such as Zep and a few off-brands and they all do pretty much the same thing.

I have used simple green and a regular cleaning brush. Seems to refresh the rubber and makes it tacky again.

Also tried WD40 on the tires when the track is really sticky, seems to help keep the dirt from packing as much on the tires.

Didn't seem to cause any issues. Dirt didnt' stick like it was previously, and since I simple green the tires after the race, wasn't hanging on anyway.

If it does harm the tires, don't know. Only know what I saw for the time I tried it, and it was on a pretty soaked track that was like mud.

I never wash mine. they would have to be muddy for them to be washed. I rarely use more than a dry brush. Foam pasts a lot longer to.

Believe it or not WD actually makes the rubber soft. I thought the samething first time I ever heard that mentioned to. But it does work and pretty well.
