1/10 4wd brushless motor/ESC combo choice
If you had your choice on any motor and speed control for a 1/10 offroad buggy what would it be? assuming you are running a lipo pack either 2 cell or 3 cell.
I think i may be getting a AE B44 and want to run a brushless / lipo set up. Mainly for track use only , either small or a bigger type track.
sooo...lets pretend money is no object here and you had a brand new 4WD 1/10 scale sitting in front of you , and you had to decide on a brushless system , what would it be?

I use a LRP 07 comp speed control and a X11 5.5 motor in my xx4. It's an assome combo.

man i would run a mamba max brushlss system infact i am in the process of ordering those parts now. the mamba max brushless motors are even ok so yeah. do you want alot of power? if so go 7700kV but that can put alot of strain on your drive train. so 4400kv or 5900kV is good.

the 7700 is just alot of rpm... and is no suited for track use...
the 5700 i found in 4 wheel to be just right.. i run on a medium sided track with good air... clearing triples is no problem.. and i usually win down the back straight drag race lol..
cant go wrong with the 5700 mamba.. its super powerful

WOW!!! Thanks guys for all the feedback! Gives me tons of options for sure. As far as this "LRP 07 comp ESC" i'm not sure exactly which one that is. I went to the LRP site and they have so many , i wasn't quite sure which one it was. And also....are these combo's listed above good for 2 cell 7.4V and 3 cell 11.1V? I think for track use the 2 cell 7.4V packs are what i would use mainly anyways......just wondering about the 3 cell and if it runs on these systems. Not looking for a drag racing buggy , just a good track buggy ya know.

The ESC that everybody is talking about is the Sphere COMPETITION. I bought (2) of the standard sphere's on accident (they look the same) but they aren't. The competition has a built in lipo cutoff and auto detect brush or brushless motor. The standard sphere doesn't have any of those features which was what I wanted. The standard sphere is still a great esc though, just make sure it says competition on the esc.

As far as the LRP type combo , is this what you guys are talking about?? >>> http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1&I=LXRXY1&P=3
I looked into the 7.5 motor with the 5900KV rating , which i think may be the right choice as far as the LRP stuff goes correct? The vector 6.5 is a 6900KV motor......seems a little to fast for what i need for track use. I haven't decided fully on the motor/ESC combo yet , but have been looking into some other options with NEU motors , plettenburgs , fiegio's and so forth....( not sure if i spelled all those right) Do you guys have any experience with any of these other types or brands of motors?
BTW......thanks again guys.
