probably more with Jay Halsey, who is M.Movie Rc Specialist.. and the one who originally built the car for that movie..

There is a TC3 that cliff did for their own insane speed run, but clausen car feels special..

<---most jealous.

Good thing you were there though.

You should swap it to Associated for a new kit and electronics. Heck, I'd swap ya for a new kit and electronics...

2007 Japanese INSANE RUN car - 100+ mph on Japanese Velodrome

Here's a pic of Cliff Lett from the Dominguez Hills Velo and his INSANE CAR
--- which strangely looks VERY SIMILAR to the car in Japan (except body color)

...it's funny that we have Kent's INSANE car - and a few other INSANE cars that are Associated, but there was a awesome crop of HPI Based Insane cars back then too...

Joe McGregor, Gary Hamilton were just a couple...ANYONE Got those PICS?

Dang, diggin out the oldies! Cool to see that you were able to rescue it from being driven.

That car was a pretty big step up at the time, the previous year I won the speed run with a NASCAR bodied car at 56 mph. So 75 was a lot faster, and that was average speed for two complete laps so the car was going close to 100 on the straights.

I'll have to dig up some articles on the car, maybe some pics. I have some pics of the HPI guys from the same era too. We need an "rchistory.com" web site!

I remember back in I think 96, my family and I went to Race Rock to eat and I had them wait like over an hour so we could sit at the table next to that car. I drooled over that car the whole meal.

According to a source from AE, It was stolen from a display case along w/ another RC car. Its sad. Likely the person who stole it has no idea what it really is or its significance.

*edit*
Guess i should read thru the posts a bit more slowly next time!

Time to break out the scanner!

Maybe a pic or three of Shawn's crazy expensive chassis, too?

This car came after the one in this thread. It was a faster but not quite as stable.

The HPI Streamliner was next. Unfortunately it had ESC troubles and never really got a full speed run.
