I second that (although I do like to use WD-40 for off-road rubber)

At my local track we use buggy grip on a high traction clay surface.

Zip Free seems to work good in most applications. Sometimes Buggy Grip is significantly better, though. I've never had any luck with the Zip Grip or any of the others that smell like wintergreen.

At the new indoor track in NC, I have seen a lot of people using belt dressing (found in many automotive stores).

Our track doesnt allow traction compound so we use WD40 on Pinks and any brand new R3 and this seems to be pretty consistent. In my experiences the Zip Grip on R3, Pink is unbelievable it turns them into goo if you use it to much. Zip Free works great and so does Buggy Grip 2. I know it depends on the track your at as to which one will work the best.
