thinking about getting a 1/12 scale, looking at the crc gen. x or the speedmerchant rev. 5. which would be a better choice and why?

They are both great cars. You can't go wrong with either but I think its easier to get CRC cars and parts. You can call order on line from CRC and get stuff fast and they answer their phones all the time.

I vote for the Gen X. It is the best driving 12th scale car with the best parts support I have ever owned (I have owned about a dozen). The lack of a T-bar means you don't have that weak-link to break, but it's not as forgiving of poor driving or poor surface.

imo the gen-x is best
and with the new front end and the long upper balls and brace,
its even better.

I cant speak for the new rev 5
but the gen-x is a good car and the Calandras are good people to deal with and talk to for info.

Default Associated L4

Hi guys,

Just got an Associated L4, and I have found out there is a side-to-side play on the front axle after I put the wheel on. Should I get a different wheel or is this normail with L4. I am new to 1/12. Please help. Thanks..

This lets you tune front traction by shimming the wheels. A wide front makes the car dig less in corners. This is done on high bite carpet. A narrow front gives more steering and turn in on low bite carpet and asphalt.

Adrian,

He posted pics on a different thread. He has a lot of play on his setup because of the use of the wrong bearings.
