Nitro racing is already gone where I live!
Gone until Wednesday night
And after that, it's gone until Saturday afternoon!

Nitro is too cool. I'll never own another electric, except maybe a Mini-T for inside.
The experience is just so much better, if it wasn't for the nitro engine in my car, I wouldn't be doing it.

i like the sound and the smell, and the performance for so little money and the fact you can run all day without wating for any batteries to recharge. but i don't think i'll get another nitro. its too much hassle. stripping engine bolts, always careful of dirt in the engine, it breaks more when you hit things because of the 700g of aluminium in the rear of your car etc etc etc...

Nitro is not going away any time soon, but electric will be taking over a little of the "nitro" territory in the future.
The limited runtime and horsepower is no longer an issue with electric. That's the past.... it's now possible to have long races, and do it with all the power of nitro too.
1/4 scale is still a good place for fuel.
I'm not bashing nitro at all.... I can get pumped up to run/race smoke belching nitros as much as the next guy. But it comes at a price... and with a mess.
Electrics open up more opportunities for racing in come places... indoors and night races... and maybe in certain environmentally wacko places

I love nitro & electric but I'll bet as we become "greener" the tree huggers will eventually turn their attention to our chemicals (fuel & oils) & our emmisions (see the blue smoke) and mess up nitro for us.

We sold our 1/10th scale electric and got into 1/8th scale nitro. Both have their pros and cons. I am now building an 1/8th scale electric one thing I am not fond of is the price! Nitro is cheaper to get going....long run not sure if the prices balance out. Another thing about electric ( someone stated this on the forum somewhere) "electic runs on smoke and once you let it out it is over"
