Let's hope the vent and case design is a little more.........robust

I came to think about building packs and I've never concidered the location of the vent hole. (no need for any smutty comments here chaps)

Does it need our attention ??

I've been told these are much more stable than IB4200s with slightly higher voltage than EP4600s.

Keeping the vent holes clear is VERY important.

When you look at some of the packs that get returned as faulty, or heaven forbid that have blown, then look at the appalling quality of the soldering, with dry solder all over the positive button, concealing the vents, it becomes clear why cells can fail.

And frankly it's astonishing that more packs don't fail. The standard of soldering by many hobbyists is terrible.

Its shaping up to be such a nice battle in the world of R/C batteries. EP4600, IB4600, E-Power 4500, and perhaps even a sprinkle of the new Orion cells. Wohoo! Looks like all of these cells will have comparable runtime/voltage/IR. Wonder how the market will shape up?? One thing seems somewhat certain at this point though -- One brand will not dominate the market like IB has for the past two years.

we've all been told that with each successive "running change" that intellect has brought over the last two years. unfortunately, every single time it was grossly inaccurate. it's growing tiresome. ah, we'll just cross our fingers again. "oh by the way, we have new 4600's ready to ship! don't miss out!"

the hype. the lost cells. the excuses. it's all so old.

Sad, but very true. Hopefully this time will be different

I guess time will tell. The EP's that I just got seem to be more then enough and after quite a few cycles, the numbers are still the same as are the discharge times.

I agree - with the EP4600's, IB4600's, E-Power 4500's and the new Orion cells - and let's not forget the current IB4200's, it'll be an interesting indoor season for EP racing.

Guys, are these really 'new' cells? I have 5 packs of IB4200's that all accept at least 4850mah when being charged. If IB have got their formula's correct and can now guarantee at least 4600mah out of their 4200 cells, why not label them as 4600's! Only a thought!!

Thanks Sosidge.

Maybe some one can post pix of vent holes and their violations. We are talking defencive soldering here.

You are 100% correct sir.....................

I'll keep running EP's until it's proven to me that these actually live up to the hype
