hi, is there a place where i can get clutch sprigns other than the stock ones? i'd like my springs to be a bit stiffer, but i can't seem to find anywhere that sells them, except for 1/8th scale engines.

also for later engagement you can lighten the shoes.. shave material off them (not so exact) or drill them in the same place on each (more exact)

are you talking of the small coil springs or the continuous loop type?

if the continuous loop type you can shorten them

That would give sooner engagement. They will be lighter but the engine won't rev as high before the clutch engaged.

okay i would like to know about this..

when using the same spring for both,. how would a lighter clutch shoe engage sooner than a heavier one. please explain to me how this is possible

it would engage later, as the clutch would take more centrifugal force to spin it out. tie a pen and a large roll of tape to the end of a string. the roll of tape will take more force to spin up to speed.
