Thumbs up Known Contingency Programs...

All,

I'd like to start this thread for manufacturers or racers to list known contingency programs and links to related web-pages.

I race motorcycles, and amateur motorcycle racing programs probably wouldn't be as popular as they are today without excellent contingency programs from related manafacturers - Suzuki being a prime example, as they have always had large/good contingency programs, and the racing grids have always reflected this fact.

When I first got into RC racing, I was really surprised that there didn't seem to be any 'results' based contingency programs from the manufacturers - I.e. Manafucturers of Feul, Servos, Batteries, Radio, Chassis, Tires, Engines, Hop-ups, Modders, etc... Almost 3 years after entering the world of RC racing, this is the only official contingency program that I recall ever seeing or hearing about, and I just 'saw' it today!

I just saw that Go-Tech Engines or their US distributor has a contingency program (A pretty good one, IMO):

Link to webpage: http://www.racefactorindustries.com/id21.html
Current U.S. contingency Program:*

Make the A-main with our engine and our wing sticker displayed on your car at any race with 50 or more drivers in your class and receive a free Go Engine of your choice plus:

1. Receive a $100 Bonus for finishing 1st.
2. Receive a $50 Bonus for finishing 2nd or 3rd.
3. Receive a $25 Bonus for TQ. (this promotion can be added to all other promotions.)
4. Receive 50% off your next engine purchase for winning the "B" main (which means you didn't bump into the "A" main) in any class at any approved large event (see above)

*Rules, Regulations and Requirements:

1. We reserve the right to change or alter the contingency prize at any time.

2. A picture of the car showing the engine and wing sticker must be supplied as well as a copy of the receipt for the engine, mains print out and the name and address of the track and local or on site hobby shop.

3. Cash payouts are only available at large events.

4. At the club race or series race level contingency still applies but each contingency winner will only be awarded contingency prizes one time per year. At the large event level a contingency winner can win multiple times per year.

5. Improperly assembled Racefactor Industries stickers will not be eligible if you have questions regarding the sticker assembly please contact me on the contact page.

6. You will be required to sign the Contingency form agreeing to all rules and regulations before you can claim your prize.

I've been on the fence as to my next motor, but this contingency program has definitely biased me quite a bit towards a Go-Tech motor. I'm currently running a P5X and am strongly considering a 21-5K. I still don't know which I'll get, but the Go-Tech motor is now definitely near the top of the list due to the contingency program...

Not that I'll ever be in the A-Main of some large event, but I can 'dream', can't I?!

CEN racing also does a good contingency program, but I don't remember the specifics. I do remember that you could win up $50 a month in CEN products.

Byrons fuel also has done a contingency program this year as well.

Good thread. I hope to see contingency programs become more popular in R/C. I think it would do the sport good, especially for the Sportsman class racers. Hopefully with more people aware of which programs exist they will become more common.

Thanks for the info, Russ.

Hopefully somebody in-the-know regarding CEN's and Byron's programs will post up some additional information - I.e. posting Links to a webpage or *.pdf detailing the programs would be perfect.

My intent was for peeps to post up details on this thread for all 'known' contingency programs...

Byron's fuel did a contingency program this year for the Northwest Championship Tour, along with sponsoring the series.

I talked with them yesterday and that's what they tell me. I should start testing formulas next month or so if everything goes right. It's all still a little ways off, 2-3 months.
