Default 17.5 novak racing

We have been doing some testing here in 1/12th, touring and oval of the 17.5 motors and have found that they make the closest stock racing with brushless motors. Very close lap times to stock motors. Within a half of a lap in oval, and about a straigh away's difference in 1/12th scale. Very close racing, easier to drive than a 13.5

Is anyone else running the 17.5?

I am getting a 17.5 this week to start testing it. Our track has had some luck with it on the oval. The 13.5 is too fast for TC/12th stock. It's fun to drive, but realisticly far too much for a beginner stock motor. I hope we end up defaulting the 17.5 as "stock". The 13.5 can be "pro stock". We've found that on some of our layouts, the 13.5 is better than the 4300/10.5.

Anyone else doing any kind of testing? I worry about fitting the cars with enough gear to get the rollout. I've heard up to .500 more then the 13.5.

not really .5 at our track, I guess it matters what size track you are on. We are seeing more like .25 inches per rotation difference.

You guys may also want to look in to the 21.5. Novak just released it for those wanting a motor to help slow things down a bit.
