Just a perspective, The Rb5 is the most popular and fastest average car at my track in NY. there have been b4's and cr's in the used case like crazy. The Newest car is the rb5 and my god it is so easy to drive and does not break easy. Just wanted to add that becasue i wouldnt want you to buy another car when it starts to catch on at your track.

You can't go wrong with an AE or Losi buggy. Parts support is great, setups are widely available, and you know you are driving a winning car that is pretty much if not exactly the same as what the factory pro drivers use.

I am not that worried about parts availability. When I buy a car i ussually buy 2-3 sets of arms and the regular stuff that breaks.
I tried out the xxcr this morning at the track and it was actually really stable and easy to drive. It actually pushed which I wasnt expecting. I am going to try to get some guys to let me take a few laps in their cars.

I am kind of traveling around forwork and don't really have a home track, so things like 1) using what the fast guys are usingor 2) what does the LHS stock, don't really guide me. I mostly am faced with 1/8th scale tracks where they allow electric, and then there are some nice indoor tracks I get to now nd then. I used to drive an RC-10 which I liked a lot. I have a xxx4 right now, whichI am learning about. Some have said the b4 can be twitchy -- is it that bad for a rough track? I don't know if I am going to stick with the xxx4, as far as having common parts goes. I'm kind of lost as far asracing goes -- it is not as easy as it was many years ago when you just had to decide if you wanted to race losi or associated, stock or mode, truck or buggy, and there were tons of folks around for advice on any of those.
So I am looking for what car can go to a variety of tracks (including rough nitro tracks) and be close to dialed in with just some obvious spring change or such. I am pretty much an average racer -- right now, if it takes a fast, famous guy 24 seconds to do lap, then it probably takes me 32 seconds. What 2wd would match these days?
[BTW: having out-of-stock (everywhere, not just at LHS) parts for the xxx4 is not very nice,if that also carries over to the xxxcr]

I would say since you have 1 losi vehicle already, get the XXX-CR.
As for the B4, with the IFMAR Worlds setup, the car has a good starting point for alot of the 1/8 scale blown out tracks, with alittle modification I found it worked well.
If you are looking for something different, I have heard the RB5 is good, and the new GV2 from academy looks like it has a lot of potential, and if the parts are as durable a the SBV2Pro, it should easily take a beating no problem, and they now made it compatible with Losi and AE wheels.

by far the best car for a rough track is the RB5. Just using the box stock setup if you are traveling to other tracks and you will be close almost everytime. Tires will be the one thing you will have to keep a eye on. The Kyosho rims are different so you will need a good stock of wheels.

I don't know the RB-5 yet. I have a 5700 MM in my xxx4, and it is quite lot of motor.
