Kangaroo & Kappo are the same motor. Both great engines at good price. Also look at the N21R7. Great 7-port Nova for around $260-270.

Ok what one you like? Kangaroo on road? P5xlt off road? A .28 of some kind possible?

I would go with the N21R7 for the Super GT (GT8) class. I like the smoothness of the powerband that this engine produces, plus the rpm range is nice too. Not to mention the price is very reasonable as well.

Big time congratulations and many thanks to Floyd Bennett Brooklyn’s GT race winner Ray Boogie for keeping his Warrior GT on top of the podium. Giving a shout out to Elvin and Jose, good job too.

Hope to see ya'll at the 2013 Ipanema GT World Championships!

As Andy said, Novarossi is the way to go. I've been really happy with my Novarossi Kangaroo .21 and Novarossi based James Hottinger Fusion X28, which is a Murnan Modified version. I've run both engines in my OFNA DM-1, Kyosho IGT and now my Serpent Cobra GT. They both are very consistent with tuning. The 28 has more torque of course but not by much, especially in my Serpent Cobra GT. The Kangaroo .21 didn't pull the DM-1 or Kyosho IGT as well as it pulls the Cobra GT. IMO it's due to the lighter drivetrain in the Cobra GT. And if you are on a tight budget you can't go wrong with the LRP Z 28R. Really strong motors and at about $170 you just can't beat the price. It's also very easy to change over from the pullstart to get a bit more power.

Regards,

D

I think I wanna keep it under $300!!! That pretty much leaves on road motors out lol. I think I'm ok with that I'm not looking to set the world on fire. I've Been wanting to try O.S. how about the O.S. 21XZ-B V-Spec? A Main Street price is $279

Sydor was running that in Lincoln as well as Floyd Bennett when we were out there. Look at the Murnan thread here on RC tech on how to break in and go for it. Seems to like the GT cars.

Bill and I both have the Speed XZ-b's and really his blue head is almost as fast, but puts in great lap times.

how does the n21r7 compare to the powerband of the old 21-7fms?
i run that 2010 model in my gt and its really strong and smooth?
Congrats to Ray, Elvin and Jose at fbf!!
because of the rain out a week earlier the rescheduled day was in conflict with a local offroad race so i missed FBF
