Good alignment machines *measure* toe at each wheel and give the measurement for each wheel, but the spec is the total of the two sides.
If the spec is .750" +/- .250" toe-in, and you have .500" on the right and .750" on the left, then you have 1.250" toe, which would be .500" too much. You wouldn't add toe to get them both to .750", because that would be 1.500" total. You did see the little box on the screen that's between the wheels, right? You know, the one that says "TOE"?
I'm not sure what side of this you were trying to take at this point, but "big" car toe is most assuredly measured the way Pops said.

Toe or NOT
Downforce;
When I double check my Car that has the 3 degree toe block currently installed. I am reading 1.5 degrees PER side/Wheel.
My Pro-3 which has the 2 degree block in it, measures 1 degree PER side.
These are taken with a set of Integy alignment gauges, so accuracy is spot on.
Either way, I have always used the combined measurement when setting toe and 3 degrees (or 2.5) PER side is excessive, especially for an Electric Car.

Perhaps something on your car is tweaked, or you're using some other block on the front of the hingepins for the rear suspension.
As it is, there is no reason why HPI would limit the toe-in on the rear to 1.5 degrees on each side, not to mention that Hara and other HPI factory drivers are obviously running more toe-in than you. So how do you explain that discrepency??
For all you know, you're using a mislabeled block, and your case may be the only one in this forum. Its best not to confuse the majority of drivers just because your car seems to be "unique".

Forgot... I used a Hudy system to measure the toe.

You wouldn't set one side at -0.75 degree and the other at -0.75 and mark it as a total of -1.5 degrees of camber. Some manufacturers may do it that way with the toe, but we chose to follow full scale practice in this area.
