I run the Pro4 w/ tekin's 203v. and a 17.5 with no problems. One of the fastest top cars at my track against newer shumies and tc5's.

hey guys I am trying to find a good pinion size to match the 98t. I am running a 17.5 motor with a 2s lipo. I was thinking about running a 40t so i can have a good balance of torque and top end what do you guys think?

I ran the GTB/Novak Combo at various size tracks in RCGT.

I ran an 88 spur and a 47-51 pinion. Grab a calculator or go to gearchart.com and see what FDR range that is and adjust to your spur.

what kind of temps were you getting with that setup? I am getting like 110+ deg. on a 98/36 combo.

Lowest was around 113* and with the 51 tooth i hit 160* around that purple ring in the middle, 130* on the silver part. And that's in the HOT Florida sun.

I've been told that the purple ring holds in massive amounts of heat and that a lot of people remove it.

Your combo of 98/36 is almost the same FDR as my 88/47. You should experience some pretty good rip out of the corner.

Oh dude I most definitely rip through the corners its just my top end is suffering pretty bad. I run on a course where theres a 100+ft straightaway and I get killed after 2/3rds of that distance

Is that FDR helping you keep up with the Tekin RS crowd? That's what was killing me.... to the tune of 2 seconds per lap on a large track

I have a tekin and redline motor now. A friend has what you have and this is the gearing I had him try. You can't beat a tekin with ver.203 straight up, but you'll be close in the straights where you were lagging.
