You don't really need them, but there are two holes in the centre that will take an m3 nut to stop the battery hitting the belt in the event of a crash.

Anyone try the 417 chassis with the 416 yet?

2. Correct, blue and silver are most common, pink and gold are also sometimes used.
3. It depends on your electronics, but with flipped belts you should be able to get it balanced pretty easily at that weight.
Hi,
New to the TRF scene, just bought a 416X, would like to know how does the flip belt trick works (how to do it).
What tools do you recommend to work on that car?
Best regards

Does anybody have a Smokem 416lp chassis in the states they are willing to part with?
you need the lipo chassis, tamiya or smokem and rebuild the car but flipping the belts and pulleys when you put it back together, very simple but you need the lipo chassis to do it
Do you have a part number please for that chassis???

The tamiya LiPo conversion is like gold dust, but I'd certainly recommend the smokem chassis.

If your feeling really cheap though, you can just use the standard X chassis, and remove some material from underneath the where the flipped pulleys sit.

We also have a 2mm chassis option for very low traction conditions.

If I had my belt flipping time over again I would just dremel the stock chassis, the lipo conversion really wasn't worth the $$'s
