This was my question.
This was the reply that I got, but it was converse to the post that you, Craig M, made prior.
I was trying to figure out if putting the shims under the susp. blocks on the back of the car would get me the effect I am looking for. As for refering to the blocks I think it would easier to refer to them as f1,r2, f3, r4 going from front to rear on the car.

There are 2 different kits available (lipo conversions - not whole kits). They are both the same, except one comes without the centre oneway pulley and front oneway diff unit.
The part numbers are:
42181 - comes with oneways
42182 - comes without oneways
All other chassis parts and mounting parts are the same. Both chassis (main deck) is 2.25mm with a 2.0mm top deck.
42181 is available now (I have had mine since Monday this week).
42182 is not yet available.
It is personal preference and track type what conversion kit to get. Most tracks and people do not use oneways (front or centre) anymore. (except racers in Japan - hence why the oneway version is available now).
HTH.

Leonard what shims did you use under your bulkheads? From the photos of Marc's car at reedy and worlds it looks like they are a wider spacer than the ones we use on the camber links, probably to make the mount more stable

Craig,
You are a funny man!!! I am sending the chassis your way until you get yours...
Serious note:
I got mine from Pro Shop Futaba - Japan.
The build and finish of the product is typical Tamiya. You can see the difference in the top deck design (slightly less material around middle on new lipo top deck).
For the motor mount mod, I used the standard camber link spacers to space it up. I too thought it would tweak too easily, but to date (about a months worth of racing)....no tweak yet.

Don't think there are many people that knows...
I guess the safest bet is on a 416WX (or whatever), i.e. the car used at the worlds, being the next release.
What is sure though is that when a 417 is released it will be a totally new generation, meaning that it will have more major changes.

Has anyone seen the pictures Mark Rheinard car at R6 of the ETS? Mark's car appears to be running a different top deck compared to the lipo chassis upgrade kit. Pictures are on redrc.net > ETS > Gallery.

I think the outdrives are a bigger diameter - where it contacts the diff rings. Not much of a gap now between the outdrive and diff pulley.
And he's also using the WE front bulkheads...

Where do people take the droop from?

Got to test out the new lip kit today. Same setup and track - car was more reactive and transferred weight quicker. Quite visible to see. Overall it was 0.2 sec lap faster on best lap.
Car is perfectly balanced with my electrics. The carbon lipo batty braces are great! Have to change the weight location compared with STD kit chassis. Bottom of main chassis barely marked.
Very happy 416 owner.
